Call for Applicants - WAC Leader (August 2024)
There will be an appointment of a new WCA Appeals Committee Leader.
Candidates are expected to fulfill their terms (24 months). The work commitment is expected to be sporadic, with some weeks of intense activity and some of little to no activity. The range is expected to be 1 - 5 hours per week.
Mandatory requirements:
- Candidates must have served a period of at least 12 consecutive months as a member of WCA Staff.
- Candidates must not be a serving member of the WCA Board, the WCA Regulations Committee, or the WCA Integrity Committee (or must be willing to relinquish the role upon appointment to this role).
The qualities expected of candidates are:
- Excellent knowledge and comprehension of the the WCA Motions, Regulations, policies and governance documents
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An ability to be unbiased with a strong commitment to fairness
The application period for candidates to submit their candidacy documents is from now until August 21th, 2024, 23:59 UTC. Interested candidates can send the application privately to the Executive Assistant Team (assistants@worldcubeassociation.org), CC’ing the WCA Board (board@worldcubeassociation.org).
The candidacy documents must be in PDF format, and must include:
- Brief personal introduction.
- Summary of activities done for the WCA.
- Ambitions as the Leader of the WCA Appeals Committee.
Candidates are additionally asked to send a copy of their applications which can be made public at the end of the application period.
The rights and duties of the WCA Appeals Committee can be found in WCA Motion 10.2024.4.
After the application period, the WCA Board will make a selection by voting and will announce the new Leader, as described in Section 5 of WCA Motion 10.2024.0.
Please note that the WCA Board have appointed Stone Amsbaugh as an interim Leader for a period of up to 3 months, expiring November 7th, 2024.
