I was thinking of hosting a cube competition at Penn state. An airport is within 15 of the campus and since it is a college, the venue could possiy be free. Any thoughts on this.

Do you have any connection to the college? I think your first step would be to attend a competition and see what it takes to run it so that you get a feel for it.

Yes i have been to a competition before. I have sent an email to them asking if they would be interested in hosting such an event. Just a question. If the venue was free, would there be any benefits to making a fee for the competition?

You could put the money toward prizes, or towards getting timers, etc, and starting a club at PSU.
