CubingZA is excited to announce a new Cape Town competition for 2024. This competition is designed as a warmup/rankings qualifier for the African Championships that is coming up in September, so we will have plenty of events and plenty of rounds. Don't forget that to participate you need to register for the competition in the "Register" tab, and make payment by buying a ticket. Please see Registration Requirements below."
CHANGES TO THE FORMAT
We are wanting to maximise the opportunities for all the cubers in our community and as a result we have decided to make the qualifying criteria for second rounds and finals to be much more achievable. Our goal is to have more people competing in more rounds of solving!!
SPECTATORS
Competitors are welcome to bring 2 spectators with them. Please let us know if you need to accommodate more spectators.
VOLUNTEERING
Please note that all competitors are required to assist with volunteering during the competition - either in the role of "runner", "judge" or "scrambler". These roles will be allocated prior to the event and explained as part of the "New Competitor Tutorial", but you can take a look at this video.

During prize-giving after 3x3 Finals on Sunday, we will be having a Lucky Draw for two winners to receive R250 Speedcubes.co.za vouchers each with free shipping on their order! There is a competitor limit of 100 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is R200 (South African Rand).
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 90% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until on the Register tab.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Registration Requirements
We are introducing a new payment system for our competitions going forward, and trying out tiered payments - this means that for many competitors who are newcomers or only compete in a few events like 3x3 and 2x2, competition ticket prices may decrease from previous competitions. Please see the below instructions for how to pay for your entry, and a description of this tiered pricing system.
Please note that there are THREE steps you need to take to be entered into this competition:
1. First-timer competitors must create a WCA account if they do not already have one (or their parent/guardian must create one for them).
2. The competitor must register for the competition using their WCA account, specifying which events they want to participate in.
3. The competitor must pay the Entry Fee of R200 on the Registration Link. DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU HAVE REGISTERED IN STEP 2 ABOVE PLEASE.SPECIAL OFFER

Daniel Rush won with an average of 7.14 seconds in the 3x3x3 Cube event. Maverick Pearson finished second (10.24) and Jesse Osburn finished third (10.53).
