Information
  • Make sure you will be available at the venue at least 15 minutes before your event starts. You won't be allowed to participate in an event if you reach late. You can refer "Schedule" tab to see the starting time of each event.
  • If you're participating in a WCA competition for the first time or not aware of competition rules, make sure that you attend the tutorial session at 9:00 a.m.
  • If you're participating in a WCA competition for the first time, please bring your ID card as well. (NIC/Passport/Postal ID/Driving License)
  • All participants are expected to volunteer for the event when they are not participating. The roles could be of a judge, runner, or a scrambler, depending upon the situation.

COVID-19 Specific Information:

  • Wearing masks, frequently sanitizing hands and following all local goverment health guidelines is mandatory while attending the competition.
  • All the participants, guests/spectators should be fully vaccinated (at least two doses). Please bring proof of vaccination with you.
  • If you are not vaccinated, you must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test within 72 hours before the start of competition. In case of failing to submit the proof, Organizing team can deny entry to such participants to the competition. And No refund will be allowed in that case.
  • We strongly recommend limiting the number of guests you bring for the safety of all attendees. The maximum number of guests that is preferred to accompay a competitor would be limited to TWO.

We wanted to let you know this event is perfectly fine for cubers of ANY age and experience. We just ask you know a couple things before coming to compete...

FAQs

Q: Do I use my own cube to compete?
A: YES! You are responsible for your own hardware in order to compete. This means you should bring your own cube.

Q: What is the normal age of competitors at these events?
A: All ages are welcome, but in general competitors are between 10 and 20 years old. Don't let this stop you though, everyone can and should cube!

Q: How do I find results?
A: All results are posted on the WCA page within a week after the competition finishes. However, for the day of competing, go to WCA Live to find information about current events. This is also where you will find information about upcoming rounds of events. Remember, the results are entered by a human so please be patient if you do not see your results immediately.

Q: Are there age divisions?
A: Nope! All competitors compete together.

Q: I want to attend, or I have friends/family who want to attend, but not compete. Do they need to pay as well?
A: No. All spectators are free to view the competition at no cost. There is payment only to compete. But in some cases, venue will be having restriction to allow spectators depending on the competition.

Q: Can I have fun at this event?
A: HECK YES! Cubing is amazing, and we sincerely hope you enjoy the competition!

Guests/spectators can buy meal tokens for LKR 1,500 from the entrance, if required.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
