All Competitors
- Please be present at least 20 minutes before the scheduled time for each event you are competing in to ensure that you are on time for that event. If we get ahead of schedule, we will stay ahead of schedule.
- If you ordered apparel, it will be available to be picked up between 8-10 AM on Saturday, May 11, at the front check-in desk. You MUST pick up apparel at this time.
- If you make it to the next round of an event but have to leave early, please let us know before you leave so we can accept another competitor in your place.
- If you are competing in FMC, please read the information on the FMC tab.
- Please review your assigned groups and judging assignments. You are expected to help judge and are encouraged to help judge even when not assigned!
Spectators
- At this competition, there are no limits or fees for spectators or guests. You are welcome to attend as a friend/family member of a competitor or even just as a non-competitor interested in the event.
- If you have a friend/family member competing, you are welcome to film their solves from the spectator area. However, please note that flash photography is not permitted, as it is very distracting to competitors.
- We always appreciate assistance with judging from all spectators! If you have never judged before, either attend the new competitor tutorial at 8:45 AM on Saturday or ask a staff member and they will gladly show you how. Once you have learned how to judge, you are welcome to take a judging seat at any open station at any time.
New Competitors
- You will need to arrive on time to participate in the new competitor tutorial at 8:45 AM on Saturday.
- We highly recommend that you watch Kit Clement's WCA Competitor Tutorial video. Additionally, many important terms and procedures used in this competition are defined in this document.
- Please review the WCA regulations before the competition—most importantly Article A, which describes the basic competition procedures. If you have any questions about the regulations, you can always reach out via the "Contact Organization Team" link on the General Info tab.
Note: You must NOT talk about scrambles or what specific algorithm(s) you did while the event is still in progress. This is considered cheating and can be grounds for disqualification.
.Each event will consist of multiple rounds, as indicated by the schedule. After a round is completed and is completely entered on WCA Live, the competitors whose names are highlighted will be the ones moving on to the next round. To check if the round is complete, scroll down to the bottom and see if all listed competitors have results. If there are competitors without results, the round is not completely entered yet and the next round has not been finalized.
Each round will be divided into groups to help them run more efficiently. Competitors will be assigned to groups based on previous times. Your group assignments can be found on the pre-competition email and on the card in the back of your lanyard. We will call the groups in order, along with a last call during the last group. Please come bring your puzzle up and wait in the competitor waiting area when your group is called. We are allowed to deny you the ability to compete if you do not come up by the last call.
Competitors are expected to help judge. You will be assigned to judge as indicated in the group assignments sheet.
.You are responsible for providing your own puzzles. Be sure to review Article 3 of the WCA regulations and confirm that your puzzles are competition legal before the event. Some examples of non-legal puzzles are electronic cubes (such as Giiker, GOcube, or GAN356i), cubes with carbon fiber stickers, cubes with logos on more than one piece, and cubes with significantly damaged or missing stickers/pieces. Please also note that if you are competing in blindfolded events, your cube must not have any logos.
You are welcome to film your solves; however, make sure all screens of any cameras or phones you have on the table are facing away from you and that you do not touch them during the attempt—otherwise, this will result in a DNF.
All other equipment required for the competition (timers, mats, etc.) will be provided by the organizers/delegates.
If you have any questions, you can always reach out via the "Contact Organization Team" link on the General Info tab and we'll get back to you shortly!
FMC attempts will be held in a side meeting room.
There will be a competitor limit of 40 for FMC, and any registrations submitted after this limit is reached will have FMC removed and put on an event-specific waiting list. If someone registered for FMC cancels their registration or removes it from their events, the first person on the FMC waitlist will be accepted.
It is imperative that you are on time for your FMC attempts. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to prepare and be accounted for. Attempts will start and end at the exact listed times.
If you do not wish to compete in FMC, DO NOT register for the event, and notify the delegates if you wish to drop out of the event BEFORE THE DEADLINE.
Please review the FMC regulations and procedures before competing.
