There is a competitor limit of 250 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $45 (Australian Dollar).
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.

Competitors may only register for events that they are already qualified for.

Upon registering you will receive an email stating “Your registration for Australian Nationals 2020 is submitted and pending approval”. This does NOT mean that you are on the registration list. Competitors will not be approved until payment has been made. Please ensure you have paid the registration fees via Stripe on the register page. Your registration will not be processed until you have paid the registration fees.

Once the competitor limit has filled new registrations will be added to a waitlist to be sorted in the order of payment. Waitlisted competitors will only be accepted provided one of the accepted competitors withdraws from the competition by emailing the organisation team at support@speedcubing.org.au. All competitors still on the waiting list after 13/09/2020 will be removed.

To receive a refund you must email the organisational team at support@speedcubing.org.au before 13/09/2020. Refunds will not be issued after this date for any reason.

All registration fees include GST.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What time should I arrive at the competition?
You should arrive for registration at 9:00 on the day of your first event. You should be at the venue ready to compete 30 minutes before you are scheduled. Please note the schedule is subject to change on the day.

Q. How old do I have to be to compete?
Anyone can compete at any age! We encourage anyone considering to compete to register as it will be a great experience regardless of age.

Q. How fast do I have to be to compete?
To compete you must have achieved the qualification standards required for this competition. Please check the events tab for information in time limits for each event.

Q. What do I need to know before the competition day?
Before attending you should have read and understood the WCA regulations . We also recommend that you watch this helpful competitor guide and read this competition tutorial. You should also know when your events are scheduled throughout the day.

Q. How do I find out if I've progressed to the next round?
Times will be uploaded through the day. Please allow up to an hour from finishing your solves to them being uploaded. After all the times of a round has been entered, you can see if you are in the following round.

Travel

Woodville Town Hall is located in the western suburbs of Adelaide, only 15 minutes by car from Adelaide Airport or 20 minutes from the CBD. For information about getting to the venue, parking, and more check out the venue's website. When arriving at the competition, please enter via the main entrance on Woodville Road.

Live results for this competition will be available through WCA Live. Results may take some time between being set and uploaded to WCA Live.

Qualification Standards

We will have qualification standards for all events per the below.

  • 3x3x3 Fewest Moves - Top 40 competitors ranked by Mean of 3
  • 3x3x3 Multi-Blind - Top 20 competitors ranked by Best result
  • 4x4x4 Blindfolded - Top 20 competitors ranked by Best result
  • 5x5x5 Blindfolded - Top 20 competitors ranked by Best result
  • All Other Events - An official single result

Qualification results will only be considered from official WCA competitions that conclude before the closing of registration on September 13, 2020.

You may register for events you have not yet qualified for, but your registration for these events will be deleted from your registration prior to the competition if you do not meet the qualification requirement. If you register for this competition and do not meet any of the qualification requirements your registration will be deleted and your registration fee will be refunded.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced across rounds (see Guideline A1a2++).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.

Qualification

Qualification times must be set in other WCA competitions in order to compete. Qualification times must be set before No date.
