Novos competidores:

Se esta vai ser a tua primeira competição, bem vindo! Antes da competição há algumas coisas importantes que precisas de saber:

• No dia da competição deves trazer um documento de identificação que verifique o país de origem, data de nascimento e nome completo.
• Deves estar familiarizado com o Regulamento WCA. O regulamento é muito grande e não te preocupes porque não tens de saber tudo, mas deve ser lido pelo menos uma vez antes da competição. Por causa disso, recomendamos a visualização deste vídeo que explica o processo de competição tal como ler os tutoriais da WCA para competidores e juízes.
• Recomendamos que todos os novos competidores assistam ao Tutorial (ver cronograma).
• Se tiveres alguma questão, consulta a página de Perguntas Frequentes antes de nos contactar, mas está à vontade para nos contactar no link de contacto em Informações Gerais.

Todos os competidores:

• Por favor ajuda a ajuizar! Vamos precisar da ajuda de todos os competidores para facilitar o andamento da competição, portanto é muito importante que cumpram as tarefas que são atribuídas pelos membros do staff. Se estás interessado em aprender a ajuizar vai haver um tutorial antes da competição começar.
• Durante o evento de 3x3x3 Vendado, mantém silêncio no local da competição. Este evento requer muita concentração e qualquer barulho pode distrair. Iremos anunciar quando começar o evento e quando se poderá falar outra vez.
• Não é permitido tirar fotos com flash em qualquer circunstância no local da competição. Isto distrai muito os competidores.
• Se és um espectador, mantém uma distância de um metro e meio das mesas de competição.
• Não é permitido falar sobre os embaralhamentos ou sobre as tuas soluções enquanto estiver a decorrer a ronda.

New Competitors:

If this is going to be your first competition, welcome! Before the competition there are some things you need to know:

• On the day of the competition new competitors must bring an identification document which verifies the name, the country they wish to compete for, and the date of birth.
• You must be familiarized with the WCA Regulations. The regulations are very long, but don't worry, you don't need to know everything. However, it should be read at least once before the competition. Because of this, we recommend to watch this video that explains the competing procedure which as well as to read the WCA official competitors and judges tutorials.
• We recommend that all new competitors attend the Tutorial (see schedule).
• If you have any questions please look at the FAQ page before contacting us, but you are more that welcome to contact us any time through the contact link in General Information.

All competitors:

• Please help judge! We rely on help from all competitors to ensure that the competition runs on schedule, therefore it is very important that you fulfil the tasks which are assigned to you by the Staff members. If you are interested in learning how to judge there will be a tutorial before the competition starts.
• During the 3x3x3 Blindfolded event please be silent inside the venue. This event requires a lot of concentration and any noise can be distracting to competitors.
• Please no not take photos with flash turned on anywhere inside the venue. This is very distracting to competitors.
• If you are a spectator, please stay 1.5 meters away from the competition tables.
• Do not discuss scrambles or your solutions while the round is still in progress.

P: Como é que eu me inscrevo?
R: Primeiro deve criar uma conta no site da WCA. Pode fazer isso acedendo à página Entrar e criando uma conta. Assim que tiver criado uma conta e confirmado o endereço de e-mail, siga o menu e aceda à página Inscrever e siga as instruções cuidadosamente.

P: Porque é que não apareço na lista de inscritos?
R: Certifique-se de que seguiu bem as instruções na página Inscrever. Também é possível que esteja na lista de espera. O limite de competidores pode ser encontrado na página Informações gerais e pode ver o número de competidores aceites em Competidores. Se fez tudo corretamente e o limite de competidores ainda não foi atingido, seja paciente. As inscrições têm de ser aprovadas manualmente e os organizadores não estão sempre disponíveis. Se acredita que seguiu as instruções corretamente e ainda não se encontra inscrito ao fim de 2 dias, então envie-nos um email no link de contacto em Informações gerais.

Q: É a minha primeira competição. O que devo fazer?
A: Como novo competidor deve familiarizar-te com o Regulamento WCA. O regulamento oficial está em Inglês e existem algumas traduções e juízes. Se tens alguma pergunta, não hesites em fazê-la ao Delegado da WCA ou aos organizadores.

Q: Posso alterar os eventos para os quais estou inscrito?
A: Sim. Podes alterar o teu registo aqui até ao fim do período de registo.

P: Já não posso ir, o que faço?
R: A primeira coisa que deve fazer é entrar em contacto connosco através do email no link de contacto na página Informações gerais, assim que possível, para que um outro competidor na lista de espera possa tomar o seu lugar.

Q: Quão rápido preciso de ser para competir?
A: Nós recomendamos que consultes a secção do horário - se consegues atingir os tempos limite para os eventos em que queres competir, és rápido o suficiente! Muitas pessoas frequentam competições para melhorar os seus recordes pessoais, e conhecer novas pessoas da comunidade, sem intenção de ganhar ou até passar da 1ª ronda.

P: Há categorias para idades diferentes?
R: Todos os competidores participam ao mesmo nível e participantes de todas as idades são bem vindos. A maioria dos competidores tem entre 10 e 20 anos, mas também há gente mais nova e mais velha.

P: Devo usar os meus próprios cubos para competir?
R: Sim. Certifica-te de que trazes cubos para todos os eventos em que vais competir.

P: Posso aparecer só para assistir?
R: Sim, e a entrada é gratuita para espectadores.

Q: Quando devo chegar à competição?
A: É recomendado que os participantes se registem no tempo dedicado ao registo, que podes encontrar na secção do horário. Se és um novo competidor, podes ver o tutorial para competidores. Recomendamos que estejas presente pelo menos 15 ou 30 minutos antes do teu primeiro evento.

P: O que devo fazer quando chegar?
R: A primeira coisa que deve fazer quando chegar é procurar a mesa de registo se o registo estiver aberto. Se chegar antes de o registo abrir, nós faremos um anúncio quando estiver aberto. Se não estiver ninguém presente na mesa de registo então procure um membro da staff e nós trataremos de registá-lo.

Q: Quando posso sair da competição?
A: Só é preciso ficar na competição quando estiveres destacado para ajuízar/correr/baralhar.

Q: Onde posso consultar os resultados e só consigo passar à próxima ronda?
A: Todos os resultados vão estar na página da competição, assim que forem verificados e atualizados. Resultados em direto podem ser consultados na página WCA Live. As classificações NÃO são definitivas até que a ronda esteja concluída.

Q: Como sei os grupos em que vou competir e as tarefas que estão assinaladas para mim?
A: Vamos enviar um email alguns dias antes da competição. Para além disso, para consultar os grupos e tarefas podes ir a Competition Groups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I register?
A: First you need to make sure you have created a WCA account. You can do this by going to the sign-up page and creating an account. Once you have created the account and confirmed your email address, go to the Register section and follow the instructions carefully.

Q:Why am I not on the registration list yet?
A: Please make sure that you have followed the instructions in the Register section. You could also be on the waiting list. The competitor limit can be found on the General Info page, and you can see the number of accepted competitors on the Competitors page. If you have done everything correctly and the competition is not full then just be patient. We have to manually approve registrations and the organizers aren't available all the time. If you believe you have followed the steps correctly but still are not on the registration list after 2 days, then feel free to email us at the contact link on the General Info page.

Q: It is my first competition. What do I have to do?
A: As a new competitor you should familiarize yourself with the WCA Regulations. The official regulation are in American English and there are also some translations and guides (such as this video or the WCA official competitors and judges tutorials). If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask it to the WCA Delegate or to the organizers.

Q: Can I change the events I am registered for?
A: Yes. You can edit your registration here until the end of the registration period.

Q: I am no longer able to attend, what do I do?
A: The first thing you need to do is tell us as soon as you know via the contact link on the General Info page. Competitions generally fill up quite quickly and letting us know that you can't attend means we can add someone from the waiting list.

Q: How fast do I have to be to compete?
A: We recommend that you check out the schedule tab - if you can make the time limit for the events you want to compete in, then you're fast enough! Loads of people come to competitions just to beat their own personal bests, and meet likeminded people, with no intention of winning or even making it past the first round.

Q: Are there different age categories?
A: All competitors compete on the same level and all ages are welcome. In general most are aged 10-20 but we have plenty of regulars who are older or younger than this!

Q: Do I use my own cubes to compete?
A: Yes! Make sure to bring cubes for all events you are competing in and look after them, you don't want them to go missing.

Q: Can I come only to spectate?
A: Yes! Spectating this competition will be free for everyone. Take a look at the schedule to come to see the events you are more interested in or to know when the finals are happening.

Q: When do I arrive at the competition?
A: We recommend you to register on the time frames dedicated to that regard, which you can find on the schedule tab. If you are a new competitor, you can watch the competitor tutorial. We also recommend you turn up at least 15 or 30 minutes before your first event.

Q: What do I do when I arrive?
A: The first thing you do when you arrive is find the registration desk if registration is open. If you arrive before registration opens, we will make an announcement as to when it does open. If there is nobody present at the registration desk then find a staff member and we will make sure to register you.

Q: When can I leave the competition?
A: It's only necessary to stay when you have to compete or be a judge/runner/scrambler.

Q: Where do I find the results and if I proceed to the next round?
A: All the results will be found on this page a couple of days after the competition, once they have all been checked and uploaded. Live results can be found on WCA Live. Rankings are NOT definitive until the round is completely over.

Q: How can I know the competition groups and tasks assignment?
A: We will send you an email a few days before the competition. Moreover, in order to see the competition groups and tasks assignment you can visit Competition Groups.

Como chegar

A competição será no Pavilhão Municipal António Costeira de Oliveira de Azeméis, a cerca de 40 minutos de carro do centro do Porto. A morada indicada inclui dois pavilhões, um deles sendo a piscinal municipal

De carro: Quem vem do Norte do país, a A32 é provavelmente a rota mais intuitiva. Quem vem do Sul do país, A1 será a melhor escolha, com saída em Estarreja para a N224.
Outra opção será a A25 para quem vem do interior do país ou de Espanha. O Google Maps não engana.

De comboio: A paragem de comboio fica a cerca de 15 minutos a pé do local da competição. Porém, não existem comboios a chegar no próprio dia antes da competição começar. Para consultar horários e preços podem utilizar o site da CP.

How to arrive

The competiton will be held in the city pavillion of Oliveira de Azeméis, about 40 minutos away for Porto's city center, by car. Once you arrive, you should see two pavillion, one of them being the city's municipal pool.

By car: The main routes are A1, A25, and A32. Coming from the North, you will be better of going with A32. If you're coming from the South, A1 is the better option, with an exit in Estarreja to the N224 road. If you're from abroad, the route from Salamanca to Aveiro is really easy. Anyways, Google Maps is your friend.

By train: The train stop is about a 15 minute walk from the venue. However, there are no trains arriving before the start of the competition, only during the competition. For more information, you can check CP.

Lista de espera

Se o limite de competidores for atingido, pessoas que se registaram e pagaram a taxa de registo serão colocadas na lista de espera, que pode ser consultada aqui. Se um lugar ficar disponível, será preenchido pela primeira pessoa na lista de espera. Se está na lista de espera e sabe que não vai poder estar presente na competição, por favor apague o seu registo e a sua taxa de registo será devolvida na totalidade. Se depois de o registo fechar não está na lista de espera, a taxa de registo será devolvida na totalidade.

Waiting list

If the limit of competitors fills up, people who regi\ster and pay the registration fee will be put on the waiting list, which can be consulted here. If a spot becomes available, it will be given to the first on the waiting list. If you are on the waiting list and know that you can no longer attend, please delete your registration and your registration fee will be fully refunded. If after closing your registration you have not been waitlisted, your full registration fee will be refunded
