Venue entrance policy:
- Competitors may bring at most one guest. This will be checked at the entrance of the competition.
- All attendees (competitors + guests) must show valid proof of at least one of the following two requirements to be allowed in the venue:
1) They are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To clarify, an individual is only considered fully vaccinated if they have received their second dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) or their only dose of a single-dose vaccine (J&J) more than two weeks before the competition. Any dose received after Sunday, September 4th is insufficient for entrance to the competition.
OR
2) They tested negative for COVID-19 within 96 hours (4 days) of the competition. The date when the test is conducted is what matters, not the date when the results are received. Any test conducted earlier than Wednesday, September 14th is insufficient for entrance to the competition.

Along with a full vaccination or negative test document, a valid ID must be shown and checked at the registration desk on the day of the competition. Any proof sent electronically to the organizers and/or delegates prior to the competition will not be accepted.

If you do not have a negative COVID-19 test or proof of full vaccination on the day of the competition, you can receive rapid covid testing at a site near the venue. We strongly recommend, however, that you get tested in the days before the competition.

Other COVID-19 related rules:
- Masks are mandatory and will be provided for all attendees along with hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes.
- Attendees should maintain a minimum of 3ft from others whenever possible.
- If you have symptoms related to COVID-19 such as cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc. do not attend this competition.
- If you have had a positive COVID-19 test or prolonged exposure to someone with the virus within 14 days prior to the competition, do not attend.
- Competitors are strongly encouraged to bring their own pen for the duration of the competition.
- The competition may be cancelled if the COVID-19 situation in New York and/or the US gets worse.
- Competitors must wipe down their puzzles with a sanitizing wipe before submitting.
- Though there will be stopwatches provided for judges at every solving station, if one is more comfortable using the online tool on cubing.net made by Lucas Garron, that is fine as well. This tool is used as a stopwatch on ones phone via a web browser.
- By registering for this competition, you agree that you understand all the information presented in this tab, will abide by all the COVID-19 restrictions placed on this competition, and acknowledge the risk of contracting COVID-19 or any other disease in attending an event of this scale.

For those of you new to cubing, WELCOME!

We wanted to let you know this event is perfectly fine for cubers of any age and experience. We just ask you know a couple things before coming to compete.

FAQ:

Q: Do I use my own cube to compete?

A: YES! You are responsible for your own hardware in order to compete.

Q: What is the normal age of competitors at these events?

A: All ages are welcome, but in general competitors are between 10 and 20 years old. Don't let this stop you though, everyone can and should cube!

Q: What is the competition like?

A: Competitions are a bunch of tables where cubers like us get to sit and discuss our favorite thing, cubes! Of course in addition there is competing, which will occupy one side of the competition hall, where you will see lots of timers flickering with contestants and new personal bests. Most competitions have a break for lunch, and the competing is split up into groups, as to better organize who competes when. (Check the Groups tab and listen at the competition for more info on this.)

Q: How do I find results?

A: All results are posted on the WCA page a couple of days after the competition finishes. However, for the day of competing, go to live.worldcubeassociation.org to find information about current events. This is also where you will find information about 2nd rounds of events.

Q: Why am I not on the registration list yet?

A: Make sure you pay your entrance fee in order to be placed on the registered list, which will also guarantee you a spot in the competition. If payment may be an issue, or you are not sure if you can attend, use the contact button to talk to us, and see if we can work out another payment strategy. No matter what your situation may be however, please register online. It is much easier for us to have you register now and pay later, than to have to input information at another time.

Q: Are there age divisions?

A: Nope! All competitors compete in the same group.

Q: Can I have fun at this event?

A: DEFINITELY! Cubing is amazing, and we sincerely hope you enjoy the competition!

Registration Process

Before You Register

All prospective registrants need a WCA account. New competitors can create their own WCA account by clicking here and entering the required information.

How to Register Online

Prospective competitors register by:
1. Signing into their WCA account;
2. Clicking "Register" on the left side of this webpage, selecting the events they would like to compete in, and submitting their registration;
3. Paying the registration fee of $30.00. (The registration fee is the same regardless of how many events are selected.) Your registration is not complete until you have paid the registration fee.

The competitor limit for this competition is 75. The list of approved competitors can be found by clicking "Competitors" on the left side of this webpage. If there are already 75 competitors on that list, it means the competition is full, and any future registrants will be placed on the waitlist.

Competitors MUST register and pay online in order to compete. No at-the-door registrations or payments will be accepted.

Any requested changes to registration before Friday, September 9, 2022 at 8:00 PM EDT will be honored. Your registration is not complete until your name shows up on the list.

How to Pay for Registration Online

Payment is processed through Stripe. Click on the "Register" tab on the left side of the webpage to register and pay all in one place! You can start the payment process by clicking "Pay your fees with card."

Refunds

Approved competitors who cancel their registration before Friday, September 9, 2022 at 8:00 PM EDT are eligible for a refund for half (50%) of their registration cost. After this date, no refund requests will be honored. Attempting to file a chargeback for the registration fee will lead to being blacklisted from future WCA events.

Waitlist Information

We will be keeping a waitlist for this competition. To secure a place on the waitlist once 75 competitors have paid, simply pay the registration fee. If a competitor emails us to drop out before Friday, September 9, 2022 at 8:00 PM EDT you will be notified if you are the next competitor on the waitlist. After that deadline, all remaining competitors on the waitlist will be emailed letting them know they did not get off the waitlist and will be fully refunded.

When you arrive, you will receive a card with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also have judging/scrambling assignments on your card. These cards will also be posted here and emailed to every competitor once registration closes and we near the competition date. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for. The card will look like the following:

If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.

You will be able to access the competitor cards when registration closes. They will be emailed to competitors and will also be posted here.

Live results will be available on WCA Live.

The competitor list for Babylon Summer 2022 is full. You are on the waitlist. If a spot opens up you’ll receive a place in the competition. The higher up you are on the waitlist the better your chance of being added to the competitor list. If by the end of the period to edit registrations you have not made it off the waitlist you will receive a full refund of your $30.

Parking: There is limited parking behind the venue. If it fills up, you can park at Babylon LIRR Station Parking Lot 3 (Closest), Municipal Parking Lot, or Locust Avenue Parking (farthest)

Air Travel: You can fly into the 3 main NYC area airports JFK, LGA, and EWR. There are a few other NYC area airports. However, these three are the main ones.

Travel from JFK: Take the Jamaica bound AirTrain to Jamaica, head to the LIRR Jamaica station and take a Babylon Bound Babylon Branch train or a Speonk or Montauk bound Montauk branch train to the Babylon station. Once off the train walk 5 minutes (0.3 mi) towards the American Legion located at 22 Grove Place. Travel from LGA: Find and take the E train from 74 St/Roosevelt Av to Sutphin Blvd Archer Av.
