If you are already registered for Back to Cambridge A 2021, and subsequently register for Back to Cambridge B 2021, your registration for Back to Cambridge B 2021 will be rejected.
This will allow us to let 20 competitors compete, instead of only 10.
Why aren't you holding speedsolving events?
This is our first post-COVID competition, and we want to hold a competition as safely as possible, so we're starting with just Fewest Moves for now. If case numbers continue to drop in the US, and in Massachusetts, we have every intention of holding competitions over the next few months with more events. It'll be a while before things are fully back to normal, but we plan to start getting back to normal as we are able to safely do so.
I've never attended a competition before. Should I attend this one?
Newcomers are welcome! Please note, though, that we're not holding the normal speedsolving events that you're used to. Please make sure to familiarize yourself with the rules of Fewest Moves solving.
Can I bring a guest?
Each competitor may bring at most one guest. There will be additional seating available for guests. Fewest Moves is not particularly exciting to watch, so please consider bringing a book or a laptop. If weather permits, there are a few parks nearby where you can go for a walk. Guests will also be required to wear a mask.
I'm vaccinated, do I need to wear a mask?
Yes.
Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
