All Competitors
- Please arrive at 8:00am to check-in and get your shirt and nametag
- You are expected to be familiar with the WCA Regulations and Guidelines. Article A is most important for speedsolving events
- You are expected to help judge. You must judge for at least one group of every event you compete in.
- If you want a refresher on how to compete or judge you can read the WCA Competition Tutorial.
- Spectators (parents, siblings, friends) are allowed to come watch for free. No prior registration required.
- Flash photography is NOT allowed in the venue as it is very distracting
- You must NOT talk about scrambles or what specific algorithm(s) you did while the event is still in progress. This is considered cheating and grounds for disqualification (Regulation 2g3)
- We may use regulation 9p3 for all final rounds. If you are not present when a final starts, you will be withdrawn from that final.
- Make sure all screens of any cameras or phones you have on the table are facing away from you and do not touch them during the attempt, otherwise this will result in a DNF (Regulation 2i2). Electronic/bluetooth cubes (ex. Giiker cube, GOcube, GAN356i) are not permitted under the same regulation.
- It would be wonderful if we could get some volunteer help from the parents. This would require either being present at the judging tutorial or to have someone teach you how to judge later in the day. Judge for however long you'd feel like. It's an excellent way to make the time fly by!
- Please treat the venue with respect, pick up any trash, and leave the venue better than how you found it. We are not responsible for your belongings or puzzles. Keep track of your own belongings/puzzles and be respectful of others.
- You can find live results for the competition on WCA Live. A few days after the competition the results will be uploaded to WCA officially.
- We reserve the right to alter the schedule in any way. We may alter the number of competitors proceeding to the next round. We may eliminate a round altogether. This all depends on if we run ahead or behind of the planned schedule.
- The main event of this competition is Clock. Clock Final will be head-to-head.
- Your delegates for this competition are Cady Shields (North Carolina), Jacobe Ambrose (Georgia), Katie Hull (Georgia), Joshua Feran (Wisconsin), Nancy Hartman (Florida), and Jared Stinson (Alabama) Ask them if you have any questions throughout the day!
For those of you new to cubing, WELCOME!
We wanted to let you know this event is perfectly fine for cubers of any age and experience. We just ask you know a couple things before coming to compete...
First, please be familiar with the WCA Regulations, found here:
https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/regulations/
This video will help explain most of what any cuber competing for the first time will need to know. It is highly suggested that parents watch this video as well.
If you prefer to read about how to compete, here is a written guide.
If you have any questions after this video, we will be having a new competitor tutorial in the morning of the competition. That would be the perfect time to ask those questions and clear up any confusion.
If you are stoked to compete and ready to sign up, head over to the registration tab, click register, and fill out the information it asks for. This will help you get set up the WCA's system and one step closer to your first official solve!
Additionally:
* Please bring some for of identification. This will be used to verify your name, birthday, and nationality. (something like a passport or school ID). This is especially important if your nationality is outside of the USA.
* Please be familiar with all of WCA's regulations, most importantly Article A. If you have any questions about the regulations, feel free to ask a Delegate.
* In each event we will have rounds. We will take the top competitors on to the subsequent rounds. After a round is completed results will be entered into WCA Live. Your name will be highlighted if you made it to the next round.
* Each round will be divided into groups to help them run more efficiently. We will call the groups in order, along with a last call. Please come bring your solved puzzle up and wait in the competitor waiting area whenever your group is called. We are allowed to deny you the ability to compete if you do not come up by the last call.

Group Assignments:
The Unofficial Clock Event will be a Clock Team Relay.
It will be 4 to a team and a bracket-style competition.
The top 32 competitors from Clock round 1 will be put randomly into 8 teams of 4 and form a bracket. This format will be similar to the WCA World Championship's Nation's Cup and CubingUSA National's Region's Cup relays.
-Each competitor will solve a single clock , one after another.
-The winning team is determined by the fastest total time.
-Standard WCA penalties apply for the solves.
-scrambles will be provided for solvers to use and scramble their own clocks (this saves time and resources). Helpers will be available to help scramble if need be.
-The members solve one clock one after the other. Thus, there are 4 timers, 4 clocks, and 4 competitors on the table. The second, third, and fourth timers must be started only when the previous member has finished their solve.
-Inspection time applies to all 4 members at the same time. After 12 seconds of inspection, all 4 members of the same team must release their own puzzle on the mat, hold their two hands on the timers. The effective start of the 2 teams giving battle is given by the judge or official speaker.
-When first solver is solving, the second, third, and fourth ones must hold their 2 hands on their timers. Same rule for the third solver while the second is solving their cube.
-The other team members may continue inspecting while their teammates are solving the puzzle, but must do so with their hands remaining on the timer.
-The winning team will be the team with the lowest total time. In case of same total times, the best individual solve is used to declare the winning team.
-This is an unofficial team event, no results will be stored in the WCA database.
-As this is an experimental format, the judges for this event may exercise discretion in the case of disagreements and rule interpretation - their decision will be final.
