P: ¿Cómo me registro?
R: En primer lugar tienes que asegurarte de que tengas creada una cuenta de la WCA. Si no es así, se puede hacer de manera muy sencilla haciendo click en "registrarse" y creándote una. Una vez hecho esto, vete a la pestaña Registro y sigue los pasos correspondientes.

P: ¿Por qué no aparezco en la lista de competidores?
R: Por favor, asegúrate de haber seguido todas las instruciones de la pestaña Registro. También es posible que estés en la lista de espera. El limite de competidores puedes verlo en la página Información General y la lista de competidores en Competidores. Si crees haber hecho todo correctamente y aun así no apareces, ten paciencia. Los registros se aprueban de manera manual y los Delegados y organizadores no están disponibles en todo momento. Si tu registro no se ha aceptado pasados dos días, mándarnos un correo.

P: ¿Puedo cambiar los eventos a los que me presento?
R: Sí. Puedes editar tu registro aquí hasta el cierre del registro.

P: Ya no puedo asistir, ¿qué debo hacer?
R: Lo que tienes que hacer es informarnos vía email tan pronto como lo sepas para que otro competidor pueda ocupar tu lugar.

P: ¿Cómo de rápido tengo que ser para poder competir?
R: Te recomendamos que mires la tabla del Horario para informarte de los tiempos límite de cada prueba. La mayoría de gente va a las competiciones para conocer a gente con la que comparten esta afición sin importar los tiempos o sencillamente a tratar de mejorar sus propios tiempos personales, ¡todo el mundo es apto para competir y pasarlo bien!

P: ¿Hay categorías para diferentes edades?
R: Todos los competidores participan en las mismas condiciones y participantes de todas las edades son bienvenidos. La mayoría de gente suele tener unos 15-20 años, pero también hay gente más joven y más mayor.

P: ¿Tengo que usar mis propios cubos para competir?
R: ¡Sí! Asegúrate de traer puzzles para todos los eventos en los que compitas y no los pierdas de vista.

P: ¿Puedo ir simplemente como espectador?
R: Sí, además la entrada es completamente gratuita para los espectadores. Echa un vistazo al horario del campeonato para que puedas venir a ver los eventos que más te interesen o enterarte de cuando son las finales.

P: ¿Cúando debo estar en el campeonato?
R: Recomendamos que te inscribas dentro de los plazos de inscripción que hay asignados en el horario. Si eres un nuevo competidor, te recomendamos encarecidamente que asistas al tutorial de competición que haremos el sábado a primera hora. Si no, está siempre al menos 15 minutos antes de que empiece la primera ronda en la que compitas.

P: ¿Qué debo hacer cuando llegue?
R: Lo primero que hay que hacer es ir a la mesa de registro para que te podamos dar los regalos de inscripción y la acreditación.

P: ¿Debo estar durante todo el campeonato?
R: Sólo es necesario que estés cuando tengas que competir o hacer de juez/runner/mezclador.

P: ¿Donde miro los resultados y si paso a la siguiente ronda?
R: Los tiempos y clasificaciones de la competición se subirán a esta página unos días después de la competición. Los resultados en directo los encontrarás en WCA Live.

Q: How do I register?
A: First you need to make sure you have created a WCA account. You can do this by going to the sign-up page and creating an account. Once you have created the account and confirmed your email address, go to the Register section and follow the instructions carefully.

Q: Why am I not on the registration list yet?
A: Please make sure that you have followed the instructions in the Register section. You could also be on the waiting list. The competitor limit can be found on the General Info page, and you can see the number on accepted competitors on the Competitors page. If you have done everything correctly and the competition is not full then just be patient. We have to manually approve registrations and the organisers aren't available all the time. If you believe you have followed the steps correctly but still are not on the registration list after 2 days, then feel free to email us at the contact link on the General Info page.

Q: Can I change the events I am registered for?
A: Yes. You can edit your registration here until the end of the registration period.

Q: I am no longer able to attend, what do I do?
A: You have to tell us as soon as you know via the contact link on the General Info page. Competitions generally fill up quite quickly and letting us know that you can't attend means we can add someone from the waiting list.

Q: How fast do I have to be to compete?
A: We recommend that you check out the Schedule tab - if you can make the time limit for the events you want to compete in, then you're fast enough! Loads of people come to competitions just to beat their own personal bests, and meet likeminded people, with no intention of winning or even making it past the first round.

Q: Are there different age categories?
A: All competitors compete on the same level and all ages are welcome. In general most are aged 10-20 but we have plenty of regulars who are older or younger than this!

Q: Do I use my own cubes to compete?
A: Yes! Make sure to bring cubes for all events you are competing in and look after them, you don't want them to go missing.

Q: Can I come only to spectate?
A: Yes! Spectating this competition will be free for everyone. Take a look at the schedule to come to see the events you are more interested in or to know when the finals are happening.

Q: When do I arrive at the competition?
A: We recommend you to register on the time frames dedicated to that regard, which you can find on the Schedule tab. If you are a new competitor, we highly recommend that you show up for the introduction to competing which is held as the first thing on Saturday. Otherwise, we recommend you turn up at least 15 minutes before your first event.

Q: What do I do when I arrive?
A: The first thing you do when you arrive is find the registration desk if registration is open.

Q: When can I leave the competition?
A: It's only necessary to stay when you have to compete or be a judge/runner/scrambler.

Q: How do I find results?
A: All the results will be found on this page a couple of days after the competition, once they have all been checked and uploaded. If you are looking for live results, they can all be found on WCA Live.

Cueva de nerja

La Cueva de Nerja está situada a 4 kilómetros de Nerja y es uno de los monumentos más visitados del país. Tras ser descubierta por cinco jóvenes de la localidad, el 12 de enero de 1959, la Cueva de Nerja se declaró Monumento Histórico Artístico.

La Cueva es, con sus casi 5 kilómetros de recorrido, una de las joyas del Patrimonio Geológico de Andalucía. Sus características geológicas más destacables, que la hacen merecedora de su fama mundial, son el colosal tamaño de sus salas, tanto en superficie como en volumen, la espectacularidad de su interior y el interés científico que tienen sus formas y sedimentos. A su riqueza geológica, verdaderamente excepcional, se suman notables valores culturales, educativos y recreativos. La Cueva de Nerja constituye uno de los yacimientos más ricos del sur peninsular en manifestaciones artísticas prehistóricas. 


El acceso a La Cueva de Nerja es muy fácil y se realiza a través de la Autovía del Mediterráneo (A-7), dirección Almería. La salida 295, señalizada como ‘Cueva de Nerja’, nos conducirá directamente a la gruta.

Balcón de Europa

El Balcón de Europa es un mirador al mar, al final del denominado Paseo Balcón de Europa. Está situado en el centro del pueblo y desde él se pueden contemplar varias playas nerjeñas y la inmensidad del mar Mediterráneo, con vistas de las más hermosas de España. Es costumbre entre los visitantes hacerse una foto al lado de la estatua conmemorativa del rey Alfonso XII que le dio nombre, apoyado sobre la balaustrada, o junto a los antiguos cañones que lo flanquean. 

En el Paseo Balcón de Europa encontrarás hoteles, cafeterías, restaurantes, bares, heladerías y otros servicios. A pocos metros también encontrarás el parking público, junto al Ayuntamiento.. 

El nombre de "Balcón de Europa" fue propuesto por el Rey Alfonso XII que visitó la zona en 1885 después de un gran terremoto y quedó cautivado por el escenario.  

El Barco de Chanquete

Una réplica de la famosa serie televisiva Verano Azul, se encuentra en el parque también llamado, Verano Azul, inaugurado como homenaje del pueblo de Nerja hacia la serie, donde cada calle tiene el nombre de uno de los personajes principales de la misma. El Barco de Chanquete que allí puedes ver se realizó según los planos originales que se utilizaron para construir la que aparecía en la serie televisiva. 

El Barco de Chanquete se encuentra muy céntrico, junto a un aparcamiento municipal y un parque infantil.

Acueducto del Águila

El Acueducto del Águila fue construido en el siglo XIX para transportar agua a los molinos de la antigua Fábrica de Azúcar de San Joaquín de Maro. El Acueducto consta de cuatro pisos de arcadas de ladrillo con 38 arcos superpuestos. La fachada estaba decorada con una galería de ciegos, arcos de herradura en el estilo de Mudéjar. El acueducto también cuenta con templetes de entrada en la planta superior y un templete central con la inscripción ‘pura y Limpia Concepción’. 

El acceso al Acueducto del Águila es muy fácil y se realiza a través de la Autovía del Mediterráneo (A-7), dirección Almería, y se encuentra a unos tres kilómetros al este de Nerja. 

 Alrededores

Todo aquel que visite Nerja también puede conocer los encantos de los pueblos que nos rodean. 

Maro, al lado del paraje natural de los Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo, se encuentra a cinco kilómetros de Nerja por la carretera nacional o por la autovía A-7, es un pueblo típico axárquico con encanto andaluz. 

Frigiliana, a 6 kilómetros es uno de los pueblos más bellos de la comarca axárquica, con un casco histórico de herencia morisca, con estrechas y empinadas calles.

Nerja Caves

Nerja Caves are located at four kilometres from Nerja. It is one of the monuments with the largest number of visitors in the country. After being discovered by five young men, on 12th January 1959, Nerja Caves were declared a Historic and Artistic Monument. 

The caves are one of the crown jewels of Andalusian Geological Heritage. Their most important geological characteristics, which have earned them their international fame, are the colossal size of the halls in terms of their surface area and volume, their spectacular interiors and the scientific interest of their shapes and sediments. Along with their truly exceptional geological worth, they have other notable cultural, educational and recreational values. Nerja Caves are one of the most exceptional prehistoric archaeological sites in southern Spain. 

It is very easy to get to Nerja Caves along the Mediterranean Highway (A-7), in the direction of Almería. Exit 295, marked ‘Nerja Caves’ will lead you directly to the site.

Balcony of Europe

The Balcony of Europe is a vantage point overlooking the sea, located at the end of the Balcony of Europe promenade. The balcony is right in the town centre and has wonderful views of the beaches of Nerja and the vast Mediterranean Sea; the views are among the finest in Spain. Visitors usually take photos of themselves leaning over the balustrade, next to the statue of King Alfonso XII who gave the balcony its name, or next to the ancient cannons at each side.

Balcony of Europe promenade has many hotels, cafés, restaurants, bars, ice-cream parlours and other services that are useful to tourists. There is a public car park just a few metres away, next to the Town Hall.

The name "Balcony of Europe" was proposed by King Alfonso XII who visited the site in 1885 after an important earthquake and was captivated by the views.

Chanquete’s Boat

The park contains a replicate of the boat from the famous TV series Verano Azul and also has the same name. It was inaugurated to pay tribute to the series, which was filmed in the town of Nerja; each street is named after a main character in the series. Chanquete’s boat, which is located there, was built according to the original plans used to build the boat used in the TV series.

Chanquete’s boat is 5-10 minutes from the centre, as there is municipal car park nearby.

Eagle Aqueduct

Eagle Aqueduct was built in the 19th century to supply water to the mills in the old Sugar Factory of San Joaquín de Maro. It has four layers of brick arches, forming a total of 38 arches stacked on top of each other. The façade is decorated with a gallery of blind horse-shoe arches in the Mudejar style. 
The aqueduct also has entry gates on the top layer and a central gate bearing the inscription ‘pura y Limpia Concepción’.

To get to the Aqueduct take the Mediterranean Highway (A-7), in the direction of Almería. About 3 kilometres east of Nerja.

Surroundings

All those who visit Nerja can also know the charms of the towns that surround us.

Maro, next to the natural park of the cliffs of Maro-Cerro Gordo, is five kilometres from Nerja along the national highway or the A-7 road. It is a white village with the typical Andalusian charm. 

Frigiliana, is about 6 kilometres, is one of the most beautiful villages in the region. The historic centre is proof of its Moorish heritage, with narrow and winding streets.

A very good place to eat fried fish in Nerja. Here you can order tapas with each drink or order “raciones”. They have an area for eating tapas full of bar stools and an outdoor area for eating “raciones” with tables and chairs. The seafood here is to die for! It’s the perfect restaurant to have lunch in with your family or friends.

If it’s Japanese food that you are looking for then this restaurant is your place to be. The restaurant offers a mix of Mediterranean and Japanese meals making it quite unique. It’s not the biggest restaurant in Nerja so I advise you book in advance.

En coche

Desde Málaga
Toma la A7 en dirección Motril-Almería, pasa Vélez-Málaga y toma la salida 292 hacia Nerja.

Desde Granada
Toma la A44 hacia Motril, cuando la carretera termina toma la A7 en dirección Málaga, pasa Almuñécar y toma la salida 292 hacia Nerja.

Desde Almería
Toma la A7 en dirección Málaga, pasa Almuñécar y toma la salida 292 hacia Nerja.

Una vez en Nerja, en la pestaña de Información tenéis la ubicación exacta del pabellón.
El pabellón dispone de aparcamiento.

En Tren/Avión/Autobús

Se puede llegar por medio de tren, avión o autobús a Málaga y de ahí, haciendo transbordo en la estación de autobuses. Los autobuses salen cada 30 o 45 minutos en dirección a Nerja y se tarda aproximadamente 1:30 horas en llegar o 45/50 minutos si el autobús es directo. Los horarios de los autobuses se pueden consultar en la página web de Alsa.

Por otro lado, si viene por la parte de Granada, también hay una buena conexión de autobuses de la compañía Alsa. Las rutas a Nerja duran aproximadamente unas 2 horas y cuarto.

Una vez llegas a la parada de autobús de Nerja, te recomendamos que cojas, en la pestaña de Información, la ubicación del pabellón, que se encuentra 10-15 minutos andando.

By car

From Malaga
Take the A7 towards Motril-Almería, Vélez-Málaga passes and take exit 292 to Nerja.

From Granada
Take the A44 towards Motril, where the road ends take the A7 towards Málaga, Almuñécar passes and take exit 292 to Nerja.

From Almería
Take the A7 towards Malaga, passes Almuñécar and take exit 292 to Nerja.

Once in Nerja, in the Information tab you have the exact location of the pavilion.

By Train/Plane/Bus

You can get in by train, plane or bus to Málaga and making transshipment at the bus station. Buses depart every 30 or 45 minutes in Nerja direction, and takes approximately 1:30 hours to arrive, or 45-50 minutes if the bus is direct. The bus schedules are available on the website of Alsa.

On the other hand, if you come for the part of Granada, there is also a good connection of bus with Alsa company . Routes to Nerja it takes approximately 2 hours and quarter.

Once you reach the bus station of Nerja, we recommend you to take the location of the pavilion in the Information tab. It takes 10-15 minute walking.

Si tu registro está aprobado y es eliminado antes del 25 de agosto a las 23:59 (hora peninsular española), se te devolverá un 25% del total. Si al terminar la competición sigues en la lista de espera y no has podido participar, se te devolverá el importe completo.

If your registration is approved and it is cancelled before August 25 at 23:59 (Spanish mainland time), you will be refunded 25% of the registration fee. If after the end of the competition, you are still in the waiting list and have not been able to compete, you will receive a full refund.
