This competition takes place at a hotel, with which we have reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate. To book, visit this page and enter the code RCC under Special Rates -> Group code. We have the block reserved for the night of Friday, May 27th with two queen beds for $105 (normally $144) with breakfast included.

The deadline to book under the discounted rate is Friday, May 13th. Do not book accommodation until you are a confirmed competitor (you see your name on the Competitors list).

Parking:

The hotel offers valet parking for $8.00. Street parking is free on weekends.

Food:

The hotel has its own restaurants. There are also a number of food options within walking distance.

Please try to limit the number of guests you bring.
Masks are recommended but not required.
The organization team strongly recommends receiving a COVID-19 vaccination before competing.
If you have symptoms related to COVID-19 such as cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc. do not attend this competition.
If you have had a positive COVID-19 test or prolonged exposure to someone with the virus within 14 days prior to the competition, do not attend.
The competition may be cancelled if the COVID-19 situation in West Virginia and/or the US worsens.

ALL COMPETITORS MUST READ THIS TAB BEFORE REGISTERING

For first-time competitors

All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video gives a basic overview of the rules. Note that this video is fairly old and some information may be outdated.

In addition, please read this document before coming to the competition.

Finally, please be familiar with how to judge at a cubing competition. All competitors will be required to judge in at least one of the events they are competing in. This video gives a basic overview of how to judge, and does include more up-to-date information.

For all competitors

When you arrive, you will receive a card with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also have judging/scrambling assignments on your card. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for. The card will look like the following:

If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
