Vi behåller de allra populäraste inslagen, och bjuder samtidigt in till en massa nya och roliga grejer - både gällande specialgrenar och i årets fun zone. Specialgrenar

På Cuboss Open 2024 kommer vi varva de vanliga WCA-grenarna med en väldans massa roliga specialgrenar! Hela 9 stycken varierade grenar blir det. De flesta kan du se vilka de är i tävlingsschemat, men vissa hålls hemliga fram tills att grenen startar. Du kan också läsa mer om specialgrenarna i listan med regler nedan.

Anmälan till specialgrenarna

För att få tävla i många specialgrenarna krävs förhandsanmälan. Anmälan sker på Cuboss hemsida, där även mer information om anmälan samt tävlingen i stort finns. Kom ihåg att många grenar har en maxgräns på antalet deltagare som kan vara med, så vill du kunna delta bör du anmäla dig så snart som möjligt!

Regler för specialgrenarna

1. 2x2x3. Max antal deltagare: 100. Förhandsanmälan krävs. Ta med en egen 2x2x3. Samma regler som WCA-grenen 3x3x3. Snitt av 5 försök, 5:00 sammanlagd tidsgräns för alla lösningar.
2. Hemligt 1. Ingen deltagargräns. Regler förklaras på plats, du behöver bara ta med en 3x3-kub (och kunna lösa den) för att delta!
3. The Yeet Relay. Ingen deltagargräns. Förhandsanmälan krävs. Ta med dig en YJ Yeet Ball, du behöver kunna lösa den för att delta. Lagindelningen kommer slumpas, och tävlingen går ut på att lösa en Yeet Ball per person inom laget, fast med en liten hemlig twist. Vinnande lag går vidare, resterande regler förklaras på plats. 4. Hemligt 2. Max antal deltagare: 90. Förhandsanmälan krävs. Regler förklaras på plats, du behöver bara ta med en 3x3-kub (och kunna lösa den) för att delta!
5. 3x3x3 - En Sida. Max antal deltagare: 100. Förhandsanmälan krävs. Ta med en egen 3x3-kub. Här behöver du dock inte kunna lösa hela kuben, utan tävlingen går ut på att lösa en sida (inte ett lager) så snabbt som möjligt! Vilka smarta tricks kan du komma på för att göra lösningen så snabb och effektiv som möjligt? I övrigt samma regler som WCA-grenen 3x3x3. Snitt av 5 försök, 5:00 sammanlagd tidsgräns för alla lösningar.
6. Hemligt 3. Ingen deltagargräns. Regler förklaras på plats, du behöver bara ta med en 3x3-kub (och kunna lösa den) för att delta!
7. Lagstafett. Max antal deltagare: Topp 32 av de som anmält sig, rankat efter resultatet i 3x3x3 runda 1. De 32 deltagarna kommer delas in i jämna lag om 4 personer, där lagen placeras in i ett slutspelsträd. Det blir matcher, där två lag möter varandra i en duell. Lagmedlemmarna löser i stafettformat varsin 3x3-kub. Snabbast totala tid vinner, och går vidare i utslagningstävlingen, tills endast en vinnare återstår. Se turneringsträdet här!
8. Redi Cube. Max antal deltagare: 100. Förhandsanmälan krävs. Ta med en egen Redi Cube. Samma regler som WCA-grenen 3x3x3. Bäst av 3 försök, 5:00 sammanlagd tidsgräns för alla lösningar.
9. Frågesport med gåtor. Ingen deltagargräns. Regler förklaras på plats, du behöver inte ta med någonting.

Special events

At Cuboss Open 2024, we will alternate the regular WCA events with a whole lot of fun special events! There will be a total of 9 varied events. You can see most of them in the competition schedule, but some are kept secret until the event starts. You can also read more about the special events in the list of rules below.

Registration for the special events

In order to compete in many of the special events, advance registration is required. Registration takes place through the Cuboss website, where you can also find more information about the registration and the competition as a whole. Remember that many special events have a competitor limit, so make sure to register early if you want to guarantee your spot!

Rules for the special events

1. 2x2x3. Competitor limit: 100. Advance registration is required. Bring a 2x2x3. Same rules as the WCA event 3x3x3. Average of 5, 5:00 cumulative time limit.
2. Secret 1. No competitor limit. Rules are explained on site, you only need to bring a 3x3 cube (and know how to solve it) to compete!
3. The Yeet Relay. No competitor limit. Advance registration is required. Bring a YJ Yeet Ball, you need to be able to solve it to participate. The division into teams will be randomized, and the competition consists of solving one Yeet Ball per person within the team, albeit with a small secret twist. Winning teams move on, remaining rules are explained on site. See the tournament bracket here!
4. Secret 2. Competitor limit: 90. Advance registration is required. Rules are explained on site, you only need to bring a 3x3 cube (and know how to solve it) to compete!
5. 3x3x3 - One Side. Competitor limit: 100. Advance registration is required. Bring your own 3x3 cube. Here, however, you do not need to be able to solve the entire cube, but the competition is to solve one side (not a layer) as quickly as possible! What clever tricks can you come up with to make the solution as fast and effective as possible? Otherwise the same rules as the WCA event 3x3x3 applies. Average of 5, 5:00 cumulative time limit.
6. Secret 3. No competitor limit. Rules are explained on site, you only need to bring a 3x3 cube (and know how to solve it) to compete!
7. Team relay. Maximum number of participants: Top 32 of those who registered, ranked by result in 3x3x3 round 1. The 32 participants will be divided into even teams of 4 people, where the teams are placed in a playoff tree. There will be matches, where two teams meet each other in a duel. The team members solve a 3x3 cube each in relay format. Fastest overall time wins, and move on in the elimination bracket until only one winner remains. See the tournament bracket here!
8. Redi Cube. Competitor limit: 100. Advance registration is required. Bring a Redi Cube. Same rules as the WCA event 3x3x3. Best of 3, 5:00 cumulative time limit.
9. Quiz with riddles. No competitor limit. Rules are explained on site, you don't need to bring anything.

Kul i lokalen

Det kommer ske en mängd olika roliga saker i tävlingslokalen under Cuboss Open 2024! Det handlar bland annat om:

• Alla deltagare kommer kunna hämta ut en gratis goodiebag under incheckningen.

Vill du också arrangera en tävling?

Du kan också arrangera en tävling i din stad! Det enda kravet är att du har koll på en lokal som hade passat bra för en tävling. Det kan vara allt från matsalar, gymnastiksalar, bygdegårdar, folkets hus och klubb- eller samlingslokaler. Själva tävlingen kan pågå i bara ett par timmar på en vardagskväll eller en hel långhelg, du bestämmer. Därefter kan SveKub hjälpa till med det du inte kan eller vill göra själv, såsom tävlingsschema, budget och hemsida. Mer information om och hur det går till att arrangera en tävling finns här.

This competition is organized together with SveKub.

As a member of SveKub, you always have a 25% discount on competitions. The membership is free, but is only available for Swedish citizens.
Read more about becoming a member on our website or become a member right away.

To get the discount, you simply need to be registered as a SveKub member. After that, you register as normal and we will verify which competitors are members and which are not.
Everyone pays full price at first, and we will then refund 25% to members. We verify the membership and refund the discount at two occasions, once 24 hours after registration opens, and once when registration has closed.
In the future, we hope to have a slightly more convenient system, but the current registration system can not have different registration fees for different people.

Do you also want to organize a competition?

You can also organize a competition in your city! The only requirement is that you know a venue that would be suitable for a competition. It can be anything from canteens, sport halls, community centers and club or meeting rooms. You decide for how long the competition should run, anything from a couple of hours on a weekday to an entire weekend is a possibility. After that, SveKub can help with what you can't or don't want to do yourself, such as a competition schedule, budget and website. Första tävlingen?

Om det här är din första WCA-tävling, välkommen! Det är viktigt att du läser igenom alla flikar här på sidan, eftersom det finns mycket viktig information där.

Om du aldrig tävlat förut bör du ha med ett giltigt ID, till exempel ett pass eller körkort, för att intyga att dina personuppgifter stämmer. Om den tävlande inte har ett ID kan en förälder bekräfta dessa uppgifter.

På [när?] kommer vi demonstrera hur det går till att tävla, men vi rekommenderar starkt att du även kollar på den här videon, som går igenom hur allt fungerar på en tävling. Att läsa igenom denna guide är också en bra idé eftersom den visar det mesta man behöver känna till som deltagare. Dessa guider fungerar som komplement till WCA:s Regler, som varje tävlande är skyldig att vara bekant med.

Kom ihåg:

Alla tävande ska ha läst WCA:s Regler. Deltagare förväntas vara bekanta med WCA:s reglemente innan man deltar på en officiell tävling. Reglerna finns även översatta till svenska, men tänk på att det är den engelska originalversionen som gäller om det skulle finnas några skillnader.

Du måste vara anmäld till tävlingen online för att få tävla! Du kan anmäla dig här.

Du måste vara redo att tävla när din grupp startar. Du behöver bara vara på plats i lokalen under de grenar där du planerar att delta. Du behöver dock vara på plats i lokalen senast 15 minuter innan din första gren ska börja, så du hinner fullfölja incheckningen, och för att vara på den säkra sidan ifall schemat påverkas något under tävlingen.

Fotografering med blixt är förbjudet i hela lokalen! Blixtar är störande för tävlande. Fotografering utan blixt är tillåtet.

Publik måste befinna sig 1,5 meter ifrån tävlingsstationerna och tävlingsområdet. Annars finns risken att man stör andra tävlande eller tävlingsproceduren.

Man får inte prata om blandningarna innan man tävlat färdigt i pågående gren. Annars finns risken att man blir diskvalificerad.

Live-resultat finns på WCA Live. Där kan du se vilka resultat du fick, och ifall du gick vidare till nästa omgång.

Du finner gruppindelningarna på competitiongroups.com. Alla tävlar inte samtidigt i de olika grenarna, utan deltagarna delas vanligtvis in i grupper. På denna sida kan du se vilken grupp du tävlar i för de grenar du är anmäld. På större tävlingar förbestäms även exempelvis domaruppdrag för de lite mer erfarna deltagarna, och i dessa fall finns även dessa publicerade på hemsidan ovan.

Håll koll på er e-mail. Några dagar innan tävlingen skickas ibland deltagarmail ut, där vi tar upp diverse viktig information för deltagare att känna till. I detta mail kommer också eventuella ändringar sedan tävlingen annonserades tas upp. Om det finns annan information som vi snabbt måste kommunicera till deltagare så kommer detta också ske via e-mail, därför är det viktigt att ni håller koll på er e-mail regelbundet.

Important info

First competition?

If this is your first WCA competition, welcome! Make sure to read through all tabs on this page as there is a lot of important information there.

If you have never competed before, you should bring a valid ID, for example a passport or driver's licence, to verify your birth date and nationality. If the competitor does not have an ID, a parent can confirm this information.

We will have a demonstration showing how the competing process works on [when?], but we highly recommend watching this video, which demonstrates how everything works at a competition. Reading through this guide is also a good idea since it shows most things a competitor needs to know. These guides act as complements to the WCA Regulations, which every competitor is expected to be familiar with.

Remember:

All competitors must have read the WCA Regulations. Participants are expected to be familiar with the WCA Regulations before attending an official competition.

You must be registered for this competetiton online in order to compete! You can register here.

You must be ready to compete when your group starts. You only need to be present at the venue during the events in which you plan to attend. However, you need to be present at the venue no later than 15 minutes before your first event starts so that you have enough time to complete the check-in, and also compensate for any slight changes in schedule.

No flash photography in the entire venue! Flash is distracting to the competitors. Pictures without the use of flash are allowed.

Spectators should remain 1,5 meters away from the solving stations and the competition area. Otherwise, you might distract other competitors or disrupt the competition flow.

You are not allowed to talk about the scrambles until the round is done Otherwise, you risk getting disqualified.

Live results can be found on WCA Live. There you can see what results you got, and whether you progressed to the next round.

You can find the group divisions at competitiongroups.com. Everyone will not compete in the different events at the same time, instead they are divided into groups. On this page you can see which group you compete in for the events you are registered for. At larger competitions, for example, judge assignments are also predetermined for the slightly more experienced participants, and in these cases these are also published on the website above.

Check your e-mail A few days before the competition, you might receive a participant email where we will address various important information for participants to know. This email will also include any changes made since the competition was announced. If there is any other urgent information which we need to communicate to competitors, then it will be done through e-mail so therefore it is important that you check your e-mail regularly.

Med Lokaltrafik

Lokalen ligger alldeles intill busshållplats "Axel Johanssons gata". Hållplatsen trafikeras av både stadsbusslinje 7 (från centrala Uppsala) samt ringlinje 1 (med byte för att nå exempelvis Uppsala centralstation). Se ULs hemsida för mer informtation om biljetter, tidtabeller och reseplanerare. Biljett köper du enklast i ULs app, alternativt med SL + UL tilläggsbiljett om du endast åker från Storstockholm.

Med Flyg (till Arlanda flygplats)

Uppsala ligger bara 18 minuters tågresa från Arlanda C. Om du vill åka från Arlanda till lokalen på en biljett kan du använda samma SL + UL-biljett på SL-pendeltåget och lokalbussarna i Uppsala (se UL:s hemsida för mer information). Det finns dock fler tåg, se exempelvis SJ.

Travel

By Car

The venue is located in the crossing between Axel Johanssons gata / Fyrislundsgatan in Uppsala. There is a big parking lot that is free of charge right by the venue.

By Train

First, book a train seat to Uppsala central station. Train tickets are most easily booked at www.sj.se. From there, use the local transport tips listed below. Remember that SveKub members travel at an up to 10% discount with SJ, more details can be found at the Sverok website.

By Local Transport

The venue is right next to the "Axel Johanssons gata" bus stop. The stop is served by both city bus line 7 (from central Uppsala) and ring line 1 (with a change needed to reach, for example, Uppsala central station). See UL's website for more information on tickets, timetables and travel planners. The easiest way to buy a ticket is via the UL app, alternatively with SL + UL combination ticket if you only leave from greater Stockholm.

By Plane (to Arlanda airport)

Uppsala is only an 18-minute train ride from Arlanda C, in case you fly in from abroad. If you want to travel from Arlanda to the venue in one go, you can use the same SL + UL ticket on the SL commuter train and the local buses in Uppsala (see UL's website for more information). There are however more trains available, check for example SJ.

Mat

Det finns gott om både snabbmatsrestauranger och grillställen i närområdet. Till närmsta mataffär (ICA / Coop / Willys) är det dock en dryg kilometer.

There will be a small café open at the venue! Here, you will be able to hot dogs, toasts, sweets, soft drinks etc. More information will follow.

Other options

There are plenty of both fast food restaurants and other restaurants in the immediate area. However, the nearest grocery store (ICA / Coop / Willys) is about a kilometer away.
