Showing up to compete:

  • This competition will take place at a private residence. The exact address of this residence will be made available to competitors by email shortly before the competition.
  • Since you have registered online, there is no need to check in upon arrival. Please make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of your first event and allow for time to park and to find the venue.
  • You will be called up in groups for your event(s). Shortly before the event, we will post which group(s) you've been assigned to and send an email with them.
  • If you miss the last call for an event, you will not be able to compete in that event. Missing an event does not bar you from competing in subsequent events (but does bar you from competing in subsequent rounds of events you missed).
  • Don't forget to bring a blindfold.

General:

  • PLEASE BE QUIET. All competition attendees are required to remain quiet during these events. Attendees wishing to socialize or otherwise talk at full volume must do so outside the room of the competition, as to not to distract competitors.
  • Photography and videography will be permitted, however there shall be NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY. This is very distracting for competitors.
  • During the competition, please stay at least 1.5 meters away from the solving stations. Again, this is very distracting.
  • Schedule is subject to change. If any changes are made to the competition or schedule, they will be clearly announced to all competitors in an email.
  • All competitors will be assigned judging roles.
  • Please provide adult supervision for children under 12 years of age.
  • All competitors will be required to help the competition run by judging, running, and scrambling.
  • Seating space is extremely limited so we strongly recommend limiting the number of guests.

Travel

The venue is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the Oceanside Transit Center, to which one can take an Amtrak train to.

Parking

There is plentiful parking on the street in front of/down the street from the venue. At most, one may need to park a distance that requires a few minutes to walk to the venue.

Food

There are several food options within less than a mile radius of the venue, including a small Mexican Restaurant right next door, a Better Buzz just past that, Pizza, and multiple other Mexican Restaurants a little bit farther than the first. All of these are less than a 5 minute walk from the venue. There is also a cafe and a donut shop both within 2 blocks of the venue for those looking for breakfast or coffee.

This competition will be sponsored by SpeedCubeShop! They will be providing gift-card prizes for this competition. They will not be selling puzzles onsite.

Below is a link to the waitlist for this competition. If you get off the waitlist, you will receive an email indicating that your registration was approved. The waitlist is in the order in which we received payment for your registration. Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 6:25 PM PDT. After this point, if you are still on the waitlist you will receive a full refund of your registration fee. There will be no exceptions for moving up on the waitlist.
