There is a competitor limit of 100 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $50 (United States Dollar).
Registration fees won't be refunded under any circumstance.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
The competitor limit has been reached. You may still reserve a spot on the waiting list by registering and paying, after which you will receive an email informing you of your place on the list. If you do not make it off the waiting list by October 9th, your registration fee will be refunded. However, if your registration gets approved and you cannot make it for other reasons, the fee will not be refunded.

Train/Bus: There are numerous Amtrak trains and Megabus routes per day from New York to Albany-Rensselaer, which is then a short drive across the Hudson River from downtown Albany.
Parking: Downtown Albany has free street parking every weekend. It also has 3 garages with free parking on weekends unless there is a special event taking place. The convention center has its own garage, but it is not free.
Hotels: Some of the closest hotels include the Hilton Albany, Fairfield Inn and Suites Albany Downtown, and Hampton Inn and Suites Albany Downtown.
Lunch/Food: There will be a concession stand open in the building from 9am-5pm both days.

For First-Time Competitors
All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video gives a basic overview of the rules.
In addition, please read this document before coming to the competition.
For All Competitors
When you arrive, you will receive a card with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also have judging/scrambling assignments on your card. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for. The card will look like the following:
If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.

If you wish to be considered for staff, you must fill out the form here.
Staff members will be assigned tasks for the majority of the groups they are not competing in. If they fulfill all of their assignments in a proper and punctual manner, they will be eligible for a refund of their registration fee after the competition is over.
If you do not apply for staff or are not chosen to be a staff member, it does not guarantee that you will not have to help out at all.
Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
