If you have already registered but cannot attend the new date, you may request a 100% refund up until 8:00 PM EST March 7th.

February 20 Update

We are pleased to share that Greater Toronto 2025 has been re-scheduled for March 9, 2025. All other competition details (venue, schedule, etc.) remain the same.

If you plan to attend on this new date, no action is required and we look forward to seeing you at the competition.

If you cannot attend on the new date, please email us to request a 100% refund of your registration fee. The deadline to request refunds is March 7, 2025 at 8:00 PM EST.

We will also be re-opening registration for anyone who was not previously registered who may want to attend on this new date. This new registration period will be from Monday, February 24, 2025 at 8:00 PM EST to Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 8:00 PM EST. During this time, competitors who are already registered may also add events to their registration on the Register tab.

We hope everyone was able to stay safe and warm over the weekend. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on March 9.

February 14 Update

Due to the Winter Storm Watch issued by Environment Canada at 4:06 PM EST on Friday, February 14, 2025, the competition is postponed and will NOT be happening on Sunday, February 16.

We are working with Ontario Tech University to try and find a suitable date to reschedule the competition, which we hope to communicate to you late next week. In case you are unable to attend on the new date, all competitors will have ample opportunity to request a full refund of their registration fee. In the event that the venue does not have a date available to reschedule the competition, all competitors will receive a full refund of their registration fee.

These "groups" are when you are assigned to compete, judge and/or scramble during an event you are registered for.

Per Regulations 1e2 and 1f2, all competitors must be available to help judge and scramble. If you're unsure how to judge, please review the WCA Regulations, watch this video, or ask one of the WCA Delegates at the competition.

Please plan to arrive to each of your groups five minutes before it is scheduled to begin. Showing up excessively late to your group may result in not being allowed to compete in that event.

Venue

The competition will be held in Triple Gymnasium in the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre (CRWC), noted in pink in the map above.

Parking

Parking is available in Founders' Parking Lot 2, marked in blue. The small parking lots that are north and south of the CRWC are parking by permit only, and cannot be used by visitors. A map of the campus can be found here.

Public Transit

The venue is serviced by GO bus routes and Durham Region Transit. All buses noted below will stop at the stop marked in green noted in map above.

  • Highway 407 Terminal, Unionville GO, Cornell Bus Terminal - connect to the GO Bus 52 Eastbound bus towards Oshawa
  • From Union Station (option 1) - take the Lakeshore East train to DC Oshawa GO and connect to the GO Bus 52 Westbound
  • From Union Station (option 2) - take the Lakeshore East train to Whitby GO and connect to the DRT 905 or 302 bus (free transfer with Presto)

Food

There are many options within a 15 minute walk along Simcoe Street.

When does the competition start? When should I arrive at the venue?

The check-in desk opens at 8 AM. Morning Announcements will take place at 8:45 AM, right before the first event (2x2x2 Cube) starts at 8:55 AM. Please see the schedule for full details.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
