Note:
1. Please ensure that you have registered for the IIA Summer Open - May '17 by selecting all the events that you want to participate in before making the payment.
2. If you have not registered before the due date but made the payment you will not be allowed to participate in the competition.
REGISTRATION
Q. What is the last date for registration?
A. The last date for registration is May 25, 2017.
Q. Can I register on WCA and pay at the venue?
A. Registration and payment should be made on or before May 25, 2017 only. Payment made after that will be considered as spot registration.
Q. What is the fee for spot registration?
A. Spot registration fee is INR 1,050.
Q. I registered for the competition on WCA but I cannot see my name on the list of competitors. Why?
A. All participants who register and make the payment will find their name on the list of competitors within 48 hours after the payment is made. If your name is not present please check if you have registered for the competition in "My Competitions" and have also made the necessary payment.
PARTICIPATION FEE
Q. What is the mode of payment?
A. The link for making the payment is given in the "Participation fees" section. Spot registrations can be made only in cash.
Q. Can I make payment through debit card, credit card, internet banking or cash deposit in bank?
A. You may use a convenient mode of payment from the options given in the payment website.
Spot registrations can be made only in cash.
Cash deposits in bank will not be accepted.
RULES & REGULATIONS
Q. What are the rules for the competition?
A. Please go through the rules and regulations of competitions under World Cube Association are mentioned in this link. https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/regulations/
PARTICIPATION
Q. What is my WCA id?
A. First time participants – WCA will give you an id after the completion of the competition which you will have to use in all subsequent competitions.
Other participants – You should use your WCA id that you have already received during your first competition only.
Q. When will my name be called?
A. Each participant will be given an id number. You will be called according to you id number.
Q. How many solves will I get?
A. Participants will get 2 solves to meet the cut-off. If the cut-off is met participant will get an additional 3 solves. This does not apply to blindfold events or FMC or big cubes.
Q. Do I bring my own cubes or will cubes be provided.
A. Participants should bring their own cubes and submit it when asked for before the start of the event.
Q. What are soft and hard cut-offs
A. Soft cut-off – Time given to a participant to determine if they can be given 5 solves. If the participant solves the puzzle within the ‘soft cut-off’ in either of his/her first 2 attempts, they will be given a total of 5 solves.
Hard cut-off – Participants will be stopped from solving the puzzle if they do not meet the ‘hard cut-off’ and solve will be a DNF.
RESULTS
Q. How do I know the results?
A. The results of each round can be found on www.cubecomps.com and will be updated during the competition. If your rank is highlighted in 'flurosent green' you have been selected for the next round.
VENUE & ACCOMMODATION
Q. How do I get to the venue?
A. The venue for the competition is Presidency School, Bilekahalli.

Q. Will accommodation be provided for out station participants?
A. Bengaluru offers a large range of hotel choices and service apartments that can be rented. https://www.oyorooms.com/oyos-in-bangalore
*OTHERS *
1. Please ensure you bring sufficient water during the competition to remain hydrated.
2. There is a tiffin centre within walking distance to the venue. Alternatively you could order online. Delivery time takes 30 – 60 minutes.
3. Please ensure that the venue remains clean. Use the dust bins as they get extra hungry during summer vacation at school.
4. Timing of each solve is verified ‘thrice’ before they are submitted to WCA. Corrections that missed our verification can be made at any time before the end of the competition as scores are submitted within 24 hours by awesome WCA delegates from India.
5. Photography/Videography will not be allowed by parents/relatives/friends/other participants within the competition area.
6. Participants can record their own solves using a tripod provided it does not create any hindrance in organizing the competition.

Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
