Q: Who can compete?
A: Anyone from anywhere, of any age, and of any skill level are welcome. All you have to do is sign up.
Q: This is my first competition. What do I need to know?
A: Competitors must be familiar with the WCA Regulations. We also recommend watching this excellent competitor tutorial.
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Submit your information on the "Register" tab to the left, and pay the registration fee via Stripe. You are not considered registered until your name appears on the competitor list. It may take up to 48 hours for your registration to be approved.
Q: Registration is closed and I'm still on the waiting list. Can I still come and compete?
A: Afraid not. Only those on the competitor list can compete.
Q: Are spectators welcome?
A: Yes! Anyone who pays admission to Imagination Station can come hang out and watch.
Q: Are there age divisions?
A: No, all competitors compete in the same group.
Q: When do I need to arrive?
A: Check the schedule. You are expected to arrive 15 minutes before your first event. You do not have to be present for events you are not competing in.
Q: I can only attend for part of the day. Can I do my solves early?
A: Due to scramble security, we do not allow this.
Q: Why are some cutoffs easier than others?
A: Common events like 3x3x3 have easy cutoffs to be inclusive. More obscure or longer events tend to have stricter cutoffs due to time constraints.
Q: Why did you pick those events? Will you add more events?
A: Events are chosen based on what hasn't been held recently in the area, and also the relative popularity of each event. The events list is final; no additional events will be added.
Q: What's the point of competing if I can't win?
A: People go to competitions to meet people, make friends, talk about cubing, improve their own official personal best times, and have fun. People of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels attend competitions. Very few people actually go to competitions to win them.
