Registration Process
Before You Register
All prospective registrants need a WCA account. New competitors can create their own WCA account by clicking here and entering the required information.
How to Register Online
Prospective competitors register by:
1. Signing into their WCA account;
2. Clicking "Register" on the left side of this webpage, selecting the events they would like to compete in, and submitting their registration;
3. Paying the registration fee of $45. (The registration fee is the same regardless of how many events are selected.) Your registration is not complete until you have paid the registration fee.
Registration opens on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 7:00 PM EDT
The competitor limit for this competition is 100. The list of approved competitors can be found by clicking "Competitors" on the left side of this webpage. If there are already 100 competitors on that list, it means the competition is full, and any future registrants will be placed on the waitlist. If the competitor limit is not reached, we will accept at-the-door registrations. We cannot accept any new registrations after the limit has been reached
Your registration is not complete until your name shows up on the list. This competition allows on-site registration, so any requested changes to registration will be honored at any time.
How to Pay for Registration Online
Payment is processed through Stripe. Click on the "Register" tab on the left side of the webpage to register and pay all in one place! You can start the payment process by clicking "Pay your fees with card."
Refunds
Approved competitors who cancel their registration before Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 7:00 PM EDT are eligible for a refund for 75% of their registration cost. After this date, no refund requests will be honored. Attempting to file a chargeback for the registration fee will lead to being blacklisted from future WCA events.
Waitlist Information
We will be keeping a waitlist for this competition. To secure a place on the waitlist once competitors have paid, simply pay the registration fee. If a competitor emails us to drop out before Sunday, May 14, 2023 at 7:00 PM EDT, you will be notified if you are the next competitor on the waitlist. After that deadline, all remaining competitors on the waitlist will be emailed letting them know they did not get off the waitlist and will be fully refunded.
FAQ
Who can compete?
Everyone is welcome to compete. All you need to do is register for the event.
Is there a competitor limit?
Yes, it is 100 competitors. You just need to make sure to register before the registration deadline.
How do I register?
Click on the registration tab on the competition website and follow the instructions.
Where can I find my WCA ID?
If you have never competed before, you do not have a WCA ID. You will automatically be assigned one when the results for your first competition are posted. If you have competed before, you can find your WCA ID and profile by searching for yourself on the WCA website.
Do spectators have to pay to attend?
Nope! Spectators may attend free of charge. However we will have a limit of how many spectators/guests may be in the room at one time.
This is my first competition. What do I need to know?
There is a lot of good information available in the "Competitor Information - MUST READ" tab.
I can only attend for part of the competition. Can I do my solves early?
Unfortunately, no. In order to keep the competition running smoothly, we have to stay on schedule.
When do I need to show up?
Look at the schedule on the competition website. You must be present and ready to compete during all events that you are registered for. The schedule is subject to change. We recommend coming about 15-30 minutes before the start of your first event.
Where can I see the results for the competition?
During the competition, live results will be posted on WCA Live. These results are unofficial. A week or so after the competition, official results will be posted on the WCA website.

For First-Time Competitors
All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video gives a basic overview of the rules. Note that this video is fairly old and some information may be outdated.

Finally, please be familiar with how to judge at a cubing competition. All competitors will be required to judge in at least one of the events they are competing in. This video gives a basic overview of how to judge, and does include more up-to-date information.
For All Competitors
Before you arrive, you will recieve an email with competition information including your groups for the competition. This could be displayed in one of two ways, either as a pdf or as a website link to competitiongroups.com.
If you recieve a pdf, it will contain multiple competitor cards. Find the card with your name on it, and it will contain personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event, along with judging/scrambling assignments. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for. The card will look similar to the following:
If you recieve a website link to competitiongroups.com, click on the link (or head to the Groups tab on this website) and login to your WCA account. Then, find the competition and scroll to your name. Your list of groups will look similar to the following:
If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.
Directions
Enter the Kentucky Horse Park though the main entrance off of Iron Works Pike. To reach Alltech Arena, continue to the roundabout and take the second exit. Continue on Cigar Lane until you reach Alltech Lane, then turn left. The arena will be on your right.
To reach the North Exhibition Hall, enter the arena through the West entrance and turn left. A sign will indicate the entrance to the competition hall. See below for a map of where to enter the arena.
Parking
There is ample parking to the west of the arena. The Kentucky Horse Park charges $6 for daily parking.
The Kentucky Horse Park is located just north of Lexington, KY, and is about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown. It is also a 10-15 minute drive from Georgetown, KY.
There are many hotels in northern Lexington and in Georgetown. Some of the closest options are listed below. Alternatively, the Kentucky Horse Park Campground is directly adjacent to the park and charges $30 per night + taxes and fees.

Staff will be asked to help out whenever possible with scrambling, data entry, running, and judging.
Staff will be provided with lunch and a voucher for free parking for the day. Some part of the registration fee may also be refunded, depending on total revenue collected by the competition.

Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
