A couple of avaiable hotels in Lillestrøm:
We are hosting special events on both Saturday and Sunday.
Team Blind
A team consists of 2 people, 1 looking at the cube and telling the moves (caller) and 1solving the cube blindfolded (solver).
The team gets 15 seconds inspection time before the timer has to be started, and the caller can touch the cube during this time.
The solver has to start the timer, and after that the caller cannot touch the cube.
You may switch roles inbetween solves, but this is not required.
Each team get 3 solves.
The teams are ranked on the best solve (bo3).
There will be 2 rounds, with 2 teams heading to the final (head to head-style final)
NOTE: You may register without a teammate. In this case we will pair you with someone else in the same situation.
Speed FM
This is a head-to-head knockout competition.
To register for speed FMC you have to answer the form below.
How it works
2 competitors get inital 2 minutes on a chess clock.
Before you start, you agree upon a (randomly generated) scramble, for example from an app on you phone. If you struggle finding a scramble you can ask the organsiers for help.
Make sure both cubes are scrambled correctly before you start.
The event then goes as follows:
- A starts the clock
- B makes one move on their cube
- B taps the clock
- A makes one move on their cube
- A taps the clock
This is repeated until one person wins.
How to win
- A wins the round if
- A solves the cube before B
- B runs out of time
- B break the rules
- The format is first to two wins
Rules
A move (or the initial scramble) can only be done while your time is running.
A move is according to FM rules, i.e. No middles. Rotations are not counted as moves
Before switching the clock the cube must be "dropped", i.e. No hands on the cube
If you switch the time without making a move you must wait for your opponent to switch time again before you can make a move.
If two moves are done on accident, the last one has to be undone. If this is done multiple times, or the competitor is suspected of doing it on purpose the competitor might lose that round.
Supersolve
For this event, we give out a scramble to everyone Saturday morning. The goal is to find a way to solve it as quickly as possible, and you can practice it as much as you want before.
The actual competing in this event will happen towards the end of Sunday, where we will call for all competitors to come up with a scrambled cube and take one solving station each. When everyone is ready, we count down and everyone starts at the same time. The winner is the one with the fastest time.
Note! Only the first 30 registered competitors will be allowed to compete in this event
