The first rounds of all events will be run in groups. These groups are pre-determined. It is important that you know which groups of each event you are in. A summary of groups can be found here while you can find an individual card with your groups here. Each competitor will be provided with a printed copy of their invididual group numbers at registration.

For each event we will run the groups in order, group 1 first, then group 2 etc.

Throughout the competition we will also need judges, runners and scramblers. Do not hesitate to ask if you can be helpful in some way! If you have any questions about the groups please email us at support@speedcubing.org.au

Travel

Northside Christian College shares a campus with Nexus Church, and there is ample parking on site. The best place to park is Car Park 3 or 4, as shown on the map below.

Please note that parking will be extremely limited on Sunday morning while the morning church services are on. We highly advise not coming to the competition on the Sunday morning unless you are competing in 3x3x3 Fewest Moves.

The College Hall is located directly across from the foyer of Nexus Church. Entry is from the carpark side.

There are also several restaurants and shops at Northwest Plaza, 500m down the road on Flockton Street, including Pizza Hut, Subway and Coffee Club.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What time should I arrive at the competition?
You should arrive for registration at 9:45am on the Saturday Morning. You must be at the venue ready to compete 20 minutes before you are scheduled. Please note the schedule is subject to change on the day. Those competing in 4x4x4 Blindfolded and/or 5x5x5 Blindfolded should arrive at 8:20am on the Saturday morning so we can begin on time. Those competing in 3x3x3 Fewest Moves should arrive promptly at 7:50am on the Sunday morning for the first attempt.

Q. Why is this competition called "Koalafication"?
This competition is part of a series of events around Australia to enable competitors to obtain qualifying results for the upcoming WCA World Championship 2019 in Melbourne. For more information, visit the WCA World Championship 2019 website.

Q. How old do I have to be to compete?
Anyone can compete at any age! We encourage anyone considering to compete to register as it will be a great experience regardless of age.

Q. How fast do I have to be to compete?
To compete you only need to know how to solve the cube! Please check the events tab for information in time limits for each event.

Q. What do I need to know before the competition day?
Before attending you should have read and understood the WCA regulations . We also recommend that you watch this helpful competitor guide and read this competition tutorial. You should also know when your events are scheduled throughout the day.

Live results will be provided via cubecomps. It may take up to an hour between times being set and them appearing online.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced across rounds (see Guideline A1a2++).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
