This competition is a series competition alongside Marrickville Mini Open AM 2022. You may only compete in one of the two Marickville Mini competitions. Note that the AM and PM competitions have slightly different events.

This competition is part of the Marrickville Mini Open 2022 Competition Series. Other competitions in this Series are: Note: You can submit a registration for all competitions in a Series, but only one of those registrations can be confirmed and accepted. You will only be allowed to compete in one of the Series competitions!
There is a competitor limit of 150 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $15 (Australian Dollar).
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until on the Register tab.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Any spectator can attend for free.
Payment:
Upon registering you will receive an email stating “Your registration for Marrickville Mini Open PM 2022 is submitted and pending approval”. This does NOT mean that you are on the registration list. Competitors will not be approved until payment has been made.
Please ensure you have paid the registration fees via Stripe on the register page. Your registration is not complete and will not be processed until you have paid the $15 registration fee. Contact the organisational team if you encounter an issue.
Waiting List:
- Once the competitor limit of 150 has filled, the waiting list will be opened.
- You must pay the $15 registration fee to be added to the waiting list.
- New registrations will be added to a waitlist and sorted in the order of payment.
- Waitlisted competitors will only be added to the competition if an existing competitors withdraws.
- All competitors still on the waiting list after 7th of October will be removed and provided with a full refund.
- You may enquire about your position on the waiting list by contacting the organisational team.
Deleting Registration/Refunds:
- If you can no longer make the competition you may request a refund.
- To receive a full refund you must contact the organisational team by the 7th of October.
- Withdrawing enables us to maximise attendance and for competitors on the waiting list to attend.
- Refunds will only be issued after this date if you or your guardian test positive to COVID-19 and are forced to isolate.
You may change the events you are registered on the Register tab by the 7th of October.. After this date it is not possible to add further events. It is also acceptable to not show up for any event you do not wish to compete in.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I compete in both the AM and PM competitions?
No, you may only compete in one of the Marrickville Mini Open AM or PM events. If you register for both competitions we will only accept your registration for the competition that you paid for first.
Q. Can I compete in this competition and the Marrickville Big Cube Days 2022 competition?
Yes, you may compete in one of the Marickville Mini AM or PM competitions AND the Marrickville Big Cube Days 2022 competition.
Q. How do I switch my registration between the AM and PM competitions?
If you wish to swap competitions, please register and pay for the other competition and get int contact with the organisational team - we will then delete your registration for the competition you are switching from and accept your registration for the other. Please note that once a competition fills up this won't be possible as you will be added to the waiting list for the other competition.
Q. How can I change my events?
You must make any change to your registered events by the 7th of October. You can change your events via the competition registration page.
Q. What time should I arrive at the competition?
You should arrive for registration at 9 am. You should be at the venue ready to compete 30 minutes before you are scheduled. Sometimes we run ahead and if you are not available for your group you most likely will not be permitted to join a later group. Please note the schedule is subject to change on the day.
Q. How old do I have to be to compete?
Anyone can compete at any age! We encourage anyone considering to compete to register as it will be a great experience regardless of age.
Q. How fast do I have to be to compete?
Please check the events tab for information in time limits for each event.
Q. What do I need to know before the competition day?
Before attending you should have read and understood the WCA regulations . We also recommend that you watch this helpful competitor guide and read this competition tutorial. You should also know when your events are scheduled throughout the day.
Q. How do I find out if I've progressed to the second round?
Times will be uploaded through the day onto WCA Live. Please allow up to an hour from finishing your solves to them being uploaded. After all the times of a round has been entered, you can see if you are in the following round.

COVID-19 FAQ
Q. What COVID safety protocols will be in place?
The competition will adhere to New South Wales Government COVID restrictions in place at the time. At present there are no requirements around density restrictions, mask wearing, or proof of vaccination. We will email competitors if there are any changes to the COVID restrictions we will be running this competition under.
You MUST NOT attend if you are:
- unwell with any COVID symptoms
- been directed to isolate by New South Wales Health
- awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test
Q. Can I get a refund if I am isolating?
Yes, if you or your guardian have tested positive for COVID and have to isolate you may receive a refund if you contact us before or on the day of the competition.
Q. Do I have to wear a face mask?
No, however they are recommended for competitors and guests.
Q. Can I bring my own face mask and/or hand sanitiser?
Yes, it is recommended that you bring your own face mask and hand sanitiser. Hand sanitiser will be provided at the venue.

Live Results
Live results will be provided via WCALive. It may take up to an hour between times being set and them appearing online.

Spectators are permitted and may enter FREE of charge.
We encourage spectators and it is often good to come watch first to understand how a competition operates. You will then know what to do when you do compete.
There are also plenty of opportunities to get involved as a volunteer. If you would a judging tutorial please approach a Delegate, they will be wearing the bright red polo shirts.
No tickets are required but we ask you to avoid the busy early afternoon period.
Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
