Welcome to the first ever Nevada Quiet Championship! The weekend after this competition on April 12-13th we will be having the first ever Nevada Championship
* Registrants will be accepted in the order that they pay, not the order that they register. Please be patient with us as we manually accept all eligible competitors.
* Competitors may only bring one guest maximum.

Competition Day Timing
- The competition will begin at the scheduled start time.
- Lunch will end at the scheduled time.
- Events will begin as soon as the previous event is wrapping up. Exception: All First Round events will not start more than 20 minutes early.
- Competitors may not compete in an event if they miss last call for that event. In general, last call is a few minutes after the last group is called.

There is a competitor limit of 30 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $12.50 (United States Dollar).
The registration fee has to be paid through Stripe here once registered.
If your registration is cancelled before Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 6:59 AM UTC you will be refunded 75% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 6:59 AM UTC.
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 4:00 PM UTC on the Register tab.
On the spot registrations will be accepted with a base registration fee of $15 (United States Dollar).
Spectators are only permitted as companions of competitors.
Competitors may bring at most 5 guests.

Registration requirements listed here are for this competition only. Other competitions may have different registration requirements.

If you are a minor (below the age of 18) and wish to attend this competition you must be accompanied by a legal parent/guardian.

Waitlist

If the registration has completely filled, competitors will be placed on a waitlist. Competitors on the waitlist will be notified by March 29th if they have been removed from the waitlist.

There are various restaurants open in the Joe Crowley Student Union.

This competition is a "quiet competition", meaning that the only events that are being offered are completed under quiet conditions:

  • 4x4x4 Blindfolded
  • 5x5x5 Blindfolded
  • 3x3x3 Multi-Blind
  • 3x3x3 Fewest Moves.

All competition attendees are required to remain quiet during these events.
Attendees wishing to socialize or otherwise talk at full volume must do so outside the room of the competition, out of earshot, as not to distract competitors.

The term "Please Be Quiet" to refer to these types of twisty puzzle competitions was coined by former Bay Area Speedcubin' organizer Nathaniel Knopf, with the competition Please Be Quiet 2015. Since then, several have been named as "quiet" competitions, with most of them being called "Please Be Quiet" or similar.

We will be recognizing Nevada State Champion titles in each event held to the highest-ranked competitor from Nevada.
Please declare your residency by listing your home state/territory on your CubingUSA account prior to March 15th 2025.
Only those who declare residency by the deadline will be eligible for the Nevada Champion titles. If you achieve a NV Champion title, you may be asked for verify your residency at the competition.

Anyone can compete regardless of residency, but only those from Nevada are eligible for the Nevada Champion title.

Note: Residency is defined as where you live at least 50% of the year.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced across rounds (see Guideline A1a2++).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
