The base registration fee for this competition is $20 (United States Dollar).
All Competitors must read the "Competitor Information" tab prior to registering.
Registration will open on 2/17/2018 at 8PM EST. The entry fee for this competition is $20. Your registration is not complete until you have registered and pre-paid via Stripe.
We will not be accepting any registrations or payments at the door. Spectators may attend free of charge. Refunds will be granted up until April 1st, 2018, under the condition that there is another person on the waitlist to take your spot. See "Registration and Payment" tab for more information.

4x4, 5x5 and 3x3 One-Handed all have cutoffs that will follow the Best of 2 format. See below for more information on cutoffs.
Cutoff: One of your first two solves must be under the cutoff time in order to complete a full average of 5.
Time Limit: If your solve exceeds the time limit the solve will be stopped and you will be given a DNF.
The 15 minute cumulative limit refers to the combined limit for all three solves.

Please do not arrive at the venue before 10:30, there are other groups using the venue prior to the competition.

If there is at least 1 hour of extra time, we will hold 5x5.
If there is less than 1 hour of extra time, we may increase the amount of competitors advancing to the next rounds of 3x3. We also may add extra rounds.
UPDATE: The registration list has now been finalized. We have sent an email to all competitors who did not get off the waiting list. If you are not on the registration list at this point, you will not compete.

If a competitor drops out, we will email the next person on the waitlist. You then have 48 hours to confirm your attendance before we move onto the next competitor.
If you do not make it off the waitlist by 4/1/2018 then your registration fee will be refunded.
If you are currently registered and cannot compete, feel free to send us an email so that we can let another competitor on the list. We want to allow as many people to compete as possible.

The registration fee for this competition is $20 USD. Pre-payment is required via Stripe. As with most competitions in this region, it is critical that you sign up as soon as registration opens, as it does fill up very quickly.

Your registration is not complete until your name shows up on the registration list. Despite the automated payment system, organizers are still required to manually move competitors from the waiting list to the registration list.
You are entitled to a full refund of your registration fee, up until 4/1/2018, under the condition that there is another competitor on the waitlist available to take your spot. If you cannot attend the competition, please send us an email letting us know. We will remove you and let another competitor onto the list. We want to allow as many people to compete as possible. Attempting to file a chargeback for the registration fee will lead to being blacklisted from future WCA events.

If you're new here, welcome! We would just like to inform you of a few things before you compete.

- Please be aware that certain events have time constraints in order for us to stay on schedule. Make sure you read the events page so you understand what those are.

All Competitors:
The night before the competition, you will receive an email with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also receive staffing assignments. All competitors are expected to help at this competition. For each event you sign up, you will be assigned to help out for that event.
If you are a new competitor, don't worry! At the start at the competition we will have a judging tutorial, so that you know how to carry out your task properly.
If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.

CAR: We do not recommend travelling by car, as parking in NYC is difficult to find and expensive. If you would still like to travel by car, consult google maps.
Public Transportation: The Q line stops at 72nd street and 2nd avenue, which is within walking distance of the venue. Alternatively, the 6 train stops at 77th Street and Lexington Avenue which is also fairly close.
Trains/Buses outside NYC: Consult google maps for directions regarding buses/trains outside of NYC. Many offer transfers to the subway lines listed above.

Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
