New Zealand Nationals 2024 is the first National Championship in New Zealand to host an unofficial event!
So with that being said... How does it work?
Signing up:
Signing up for any unofficial event is done at the same time you register for your official events.
Simply select the event that you would like to compete in under the official events.
NOTE: There will still be an extra cost for signing up for the event.
What you need on the day:
We will be hosting 3x3x3 Team Blind. This event will require one 3x3x3 cube and one blindfold PER team (cubes and blindfold must comply with normal 3x3x3 blindfolded standards. See - WCA Regulations)
What if I don't have a partner/they are unable to come?
All competitiors without partners on the day will be assigned a partner.
In the case of an odd number of competitors, the final competitor will be paired with a delegate.
What format will Team Blind be in?
We have decided to make this event an MO3 event. This means you get three attempts and the rankings will be based on the mean.
What are the prizes?
A special certificate will be handed out to the teams placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Will the results be on my WCA profile?
Unfortunately no. As Team Blind is not a listed WCA event, there is nothing we can do to add the times to your WCA profile, or display them on WCA live.

New Zealand Nationals 2024 welcomes spectators!
We encourage anyone who is capable of solving under the time limit to compete, but if you feel you're not quite ready to compete yet then we encourage you to come and spectate, then you will have a better understanding of how a competition operates and will know what to do when you do compete later.
There are also plenty of opportunities to get involved as a volunteer. If you would like a judging tutorial please approach an Organizer or a Delegate. If you don't know how to find us, just ask another competitor in the venue and they will be able to help point us out!
Spectators are encouraged to learn how to judge. We will run a judging tutorial at the same time as the new competitor tutorial, you can also have someone teach you how to judge later in the day. Judging is not difficult and you don't need to be a cuber to be a successful judge, it is an excellent way to make the time fly by!
This venue has been picked out by our delegates to suit as many spectators as possible. With Saturday and Sunday being held in a performing arts centre. With a stage that the cubers will compete on and a massive auditorium for anyone to watch.
Feel free to record and encourage our young talented cubers.
Spectators come free of charge!
