There is a competitor limit of 55 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $30 (Canadian Dollar).
If your registration is cancelled before Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 PM UTC you will be refunded 95% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 PM UTC.
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 PM UTC on the Register tab.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.

Health and Safety (COVID-19) Protocols

Competitors may bring at most one (1) guest. Competitors over the age of 18 are encouraged to come without a guest.

Competitors must read the Health and Safety Protocols prior to registering.

Competitor List

Registrants must pay the registration fee in order to be added to the competitor list. Organizers manually accept registrations one at a time in the order the registration fees are paid, so you may have to wait a while before your name could show up on the competitor list.

Once the competitor list reaches the 55 competitor limit, registrants who pay the registration fee will be added to the waiting list instead of the competitor list. Due to the competitor limit, completing your registration within the initial registration period does not guaranteed you a spot on the competitor list.

Waiting List

The waiting list is ordered based on the timestamp that registrants paid the registration fee. For privacy reasons, this list is not available to the public. If you are added to the waiting list you will be informed via an email from the Organization team.

Anyone on the waiting list who wishes to be removed from the waiting list may contact the organizers to delete their registration and be refunded 100% of their registration fee.

If the competitor list fills up quickly, registration could close earlier than the originally listed date (October 24, 2022). The waiting list will close at the same time that registration closes.

If anyone on the competitor list deletes their registration, the person at the top of the waiting list will be moved to the competitor list. After November 5, 2022, the competitor list will be finalized and registrants who are still on the waiting list will be refunded 100% of their registration fee.

Awards

By registering for this competition you agree that you and (if applicable) your guest understand and will follow the following policies:

Masks are to be required at all times, and must cover your nose and mouth. If you refuse to wear a mask inside of the venue, you will be disqualified from the competition and be asked to leave the premises. There will be no non-medical exceptions to this policy. The Organizing Team will consider accommodations for documented medical exceptions. Please email the Organizing Team in advance if you have a medical exception that requires consideration.
Competitors should not attend the competition if they test positive for COVID-19, if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or if they were in close contact to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
Competitors may bring at most one (1) guest. Competitors over the age of 18 are encouraged to come without a guest.
Whenever possible, competitors and guests are encouraged to physically distance from others.

These policies are subject to change as deemed necessary by the organizers, the WCA Board, or municipal/provincial/federal government.

Since this is a smaller competition, we will not have a staff application like other competitions in the Greater Toronto Area.

As per Regulations 1e2 and 1f2, all competitors must be available to help judge and scramble.

Transit

The Viva Yellow bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the venue, with 15 minute service from Newmarket Terminal. The Viva Blue bus is the best option to get to Newmarket, also running a 15 minute service from Finch Terminal.

Parking

There is parking at the back of the venue, and additional parallel spots near the main entrance. If parking is full, cars can also park on Forhan Avenue.

There are many options for food North and East of the venue, both around a 5 minute walk.

Options include McDonalds, Wendy's, Tim Hortons, Harvey's, Osmow's, Starbucks, and more.

Groups will be called up one at a time. Showing up excessively late to your group may result in not being allowed to compete in that event.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
