Information

*** We will be giving out free Penn Cube Day T-shirts for competitors. Please put your T-shirt size (YM/S/M/L/XL/XXL) in the comment of your registration.** Size details (YM: 18in width, 23.5in length; S: 18 28; M: 20 29; L: 22 30; XL: 24 31; XXL: 26 32)

  • Current UPenn students are entitled to free registration. Please leave your Penn email in the registration comment and pay the fee. We will refund if you are qualified.

  • March 2025 is WCA newcomer month, so we will have newcomer (competitors attending their first competition, or who have a 2025 WCA ID) podium for 3×3, based on the result of 3×3 round 1.

  • We recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your first event because there are no set times for each group. If your first event is later in the day, you do not have to arrive until then. Missing your group risks potential disqualification from the event.

  • Groups will be posted and sent in an email a few days before the competition. When it is time to compete, groups will be called instead of individual participants.

  • Food and drinks are NOT permitted inside the main room. You may eat elsewhere in Houston Hall. There are a few restaurants within a ten minute walk/drive.

  • Live results will be posted on WCA Live.

Registration Information:

Before You Register

All prospective registrants need a WCA account. Competitors can create their own WCA account by clicking here and entering the required information.

How to Register Online

The competitor limit for this competition is 100.
Prospective competitors register by:
1. Signing into their WCA account;
2. Clicking "Register" on the left side of this webpage, selecting the events they would like to compete in, and submitting their registration;
3. Paying the registration cost of $23.00. (The registration cost is the same, regardless of how many events are selected.)
Your registration is not complete until you have paid the registration fee.

PLEASE NOTE: If you paid but don't see your name on the registration list within 48 hours of payment (assuming 100 competitors aren't on the competitor list already), please email the organizers. Despite the use of the Stripe payment system, organizers still have to manually move competitors to the approved competitor list following payment.

How to Pay for Registration Online

Payment is processed through Stripe.
Click on the "Register" tab on the left side of the webpage to register and pay all in one place! You can start the payment process by clicking "Pay your fees with card."

Withdrawing Registration

Registering and paying demonstrates your commitment to attend the competition. However, if you have registered and are no longer able to attend, please contact us via email.

Refunds

If you withdraw your registration before registration closes, you are eligible for a refund of half your registration cost. This means that if you decide to withdraw before then, you are eligible for a refund of $11.50. After this date, no refund requests will be honored.

There will be no refunds issued after this date. Attempting to file a chargeback for the registration fee will lead to being blacklisted from future WCA events.

Any requested changes to registration before registration closes will be honored. Your registration is not complete until your name shows up on the list. If you believe you paid and your name isn't showing up, please contact us so that we can assist you.

Competitors MUST register and pay online in order to compete. No at-the-door registrations or payments will be accepted.

Waitlist Information

We will be keeping a waitlist for this competition. Once the 100th competitor has paid, we will not close registration until we have a waitlist of 15 competitors (not including the 100th who will be/are listed on the competitors tab). To secure a place on the waitlist once 100 competitors have paid, simply pay the registration fee. If a competitor emails us to drop out, you will be notified if you are the next competitor on the waitlist. If you see that you cannot pay to be on the waitlist (registration will have closed), it means we have reached the waitlist threshold (15) and have therefore closed registration.

If you are emailed notifying you that you can compete, you have 48 hours to respond confirming your attendance before your registration will be refunded and we move on to the next competitor. Therefore, it is imperative that you check your emails frequently if you are on the waitlist.

Once the deadline to request a refund has passed, all remaining competitors on the waitlist will be emailed letting them know they did not get off the waitlist and will be refunded.

The location of the competition will be located in Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce Street. Enter the building through Penn Commons, and the rightmost door to Houston Hall.

Parking garages can be found nearby; the closest ones are the Penn Museum parking lot, Ludlow & 34th, Chestnut & 34th. More information can be found here:
