We are very excited to announce the inaugural Pennsylvania Championship! Join us for a very sweet weekend of cubing and fun in historic Hershey Pennsylvania.

This competition is recognized as an official World Cube Association competition. Therefore, all competitors must be familiar with the WCA regulations

There is a competitor limit of 200 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $40 (United States Dollar).
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until by contacting the organization team.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Spectators are only permitted as companions of competitors.

Please keep in mind that registrations are approved manually after payment, so your registration may not be approved immediately.
Your registration is not complete until your registration fee has been paid.
All competitiors must read the "Competitor Information" tab.
Any requested changes to registration before registration closes will be honored.

WAITLIST INFORMATION:
If the competitor limit of 200 has been reached, you can still register and pay the registration fee to secure a spot on the waitlist. During the registration period, any competitor can cancel their registration and allow the first person on the waitlist to take their spot. If you find that you cannot make it to the competition after registering, please contact us so that we can maximize attendance.
All registrants still on the waitlist after the registration period will have their registrations deleted, and will be fully refunded.
We may completely close registration if the waitlist becomes very large.

  • A COVID-19 VACCINATION IS NOT SUFFICIENT FOR THIS COMPETITION. YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST TAKEN WITHIN 96 HOURS (4 DAYS) OF THE COMPETITION. The test must be taken at or after 8:00AM ET on Monday June 13th to be valid.Proof of the negative result can be provided electronically in those 96 hours (via a Google form we will send via email) or in person at check in on Friday or Saturday.
  • Competitors may bring at most one guest. No external spectators are allowed, only those coming with a confirmed competitor will be allowed in the venue.
  • Masks are are required at all times and extras will be provided for all attendees along with hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes.

  • Attendees should maintain a minimum of 3ft from others whenever possible.

  • The organizing team strongly recommends receiving a COVID-19 vaccination before competing. For information on, and finding vaccines near you, please use this website!

  • If you have symptoms related to COVID-19 such as cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc. do not attend this competition.

  • If you have had a positive COVID-19 test or prolonged exposure to someone with the virus within 14 days prior to the competition, do not attend.

  • Competitors are strongly encouraged to bring their own pen for the duration of the competition.

  • The competition may be cancelled if the COVID-19 situation in Pennsylvania and/or the US gets worse.

  • By registering for this competition, you agree that you understand all the information presented in this tab, will abide by all the COVID-19 restrictions placed on this competition, and acknowledge the risk of contracting COVID-19 or any other disease in attending an event of this scale.

For First-Time Competitors

All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video gives a basic overview of the rules.

For All Competitors

When you arrive, you will receive a card with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also have judging/scrambling assignments on your card. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for. The card will look like the following:

If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.

Travel Options:
Driving: The Hershey Lodge is easily accessible from I-76, I-81, and I-83.

Parking: There is plenty of parking available for free right at the Hershey Lodge.

Plane: The closest airport is Harrisburg International Airport (MDT). It is roughly a 20 minute drive away by car. All transportation options from the airport can be found here

Bus/Train: Greyhound and Megabus both offer service into Harrisburg, from where you can access Hershey by car or public bus.
Amtrak offers service into their station in downtown Harrisburg, which is a short drive from Hershey and a handful of Hershey area hotels offer free shuttle service to and from the Amtrak station! Here some links to that information:

Hotels: We highly recommend booking your hotel stay directly at our official PA Championship hotel partner, the Hershey Lodge! When you stay at the lodge, you'll be able to take advantage of their prime location (at the venue!) and amazing offerings in service and comfort. If you do choose to stay elsewhere, there are a handful of other hotels within a short driving distance from the venue. You can get your search started here.

Discounted HersheyPark tickets to be used at anytime over the weekend of the competition can be purchased from the link below. Tickets must be preordered and paid for in advance through Paypal. The Google form linked below does not obligate you to purchase tickets - we will be sending an email closer to the date of the competition with regards to final purchases. You will pay for the tickets through PayPal. Tickets will be distributed at the registration table on June 17th and 18th. Anyone wishing to receive their ticket prior to this date should contact Katharine Lively at livelykatharine@yahoo.com . Discounted tickets purchased by April 27th are $33.95. After that, discounted tickets are $42.95; a great savings either way!

To summarize the process:
1. Fill out the Google form to send us your ticket order.
2. We will send you an email closer to the date of the competition verifying your wish to purchase tickets.
3. We will request payment.
4. You will pay us through Paypal.
5. We will purchase your tickets and you will receive them at the registration table.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
