Information

This is not a normal competition

We won't be holding any normal events. This competition is entirely focused on blindfolded events,.

If you have not competed before, this may not be the best experience for your first competition. Sign up at CubingZA to get notifications for other competitions in your province.

Please be quiet. These events can require immense focus, so as the name of the competition suggests, competitors and spectators must remain quiet to ensure fair and equal conditions for all competitors. Those who continually make noise will be asked to leave without refund.

Venue

The venue is in a private venue in Bryanston. Access for all competitors and guests need to be arranged in advance. Failure to do so will result in you or your guests being denied access to the venue.
There is limited parking that needs to be arranged in advance. All competitors must please provide the following information in the comments of their registration:

If you will be arriving by car, please provide registration number.
If you will be getting a lift with someone, please provide the name of the person you will be getting a lift with.
If using an Uber or other transport, please indicate this.

Once you have provided this information, you will be given the exact address.

Guests

Competitors may bring only one guest due to venue constraints. If a competitor is bringing a guest, then they must provide the full name and surname.

About CubingZA

Competitions in South Africa have exploded since the end of COVID, and interest is only getting stronger. CubingZA is a volunteer organisation made up of delegates and community members who have come together to try and ensure that we can sustainably run regular competitions all across the country.

There is a competitor limit of 12 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is R100 (South African Rand).
If your registration is cancelled before Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 12:00 AM UTC you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 12:00 AM UTC.
We encourage everyone to register for the events they want to compete in via your online registration, however you may add events to your registration up until the event has started.
On the spot registrations will be accepted with a base registration fee of R100 (South African Rand).
Spectators are only permitted as companions of competitors.
Competitors may bring at most 1 guest.

Please note that there are THREE steps you need to take to be entered into this competition:

First-timer competitors must create a WCA account if they do not already have one (or their parent/guardian must create one for them).
The competitor must register for the competition using their WCA account, specifying which events they want to participate in.
The competitor must pay the entry fee by sending the appropriate amount of R100.00 to the following bank account. DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU HAVE REGISTERED IN STEP 2 ABOVE PLEASE.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
