Please review all of the tabs listed on this website. This competition ONLY HAS BLINDFOLDED EVENTS, and is NOT A REGULAR COMPETITION. Note that we may run ahead of or behind schedule, so please be ready for each event/round about 30 minutes in advance, just in case (we will not start the first event early).

There is a competitor limit of 24 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $15 (Canadian Dollar).
The registration fee has to be paid through Stripe here once registered.
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 50% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until on the Register tab.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Spectators are only permitted as companions of competitors.
Competitors may bring at most 2 guests.

This competition is happening right after FMC Canada 2024. Do not show up early, as fewest moves will be ongoing and also requires silence/no distractions.

The competition is at UBC, in the Irving K Barber Learning Centre, located at 1961 East Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z1, in room 155.

Note that this is the same venue/room as FMC Canada 2024 (a multi-venue competition) which is taking place directly before this competition.

Public Transit

UBC is accessible by many buses and the venue is less than a 5 minute walk from the UBC bus loop/exchange. Due to construction and other unforeseen circumstances, buses may be delayed. Please check Translink's alerts and plan your trip accordingly.

Food

There are many restaurants within walking distance from the venue including on the first floor of the nearby Life building and in the Nest building.

As this is a small competition with only blindfolded events, we will need everyone to help out when not competing - typically, this means you will need to judge when not competing.

Welcome

For those of you new to cubing - we'd like to welcome you to attend a competition, but this is probably NOT a good competition to attend. We only have blindfolded events, and WILL NOT HAVE 3x3x3. Please search for other BC competitions.

FAQs

Q: What will the competition look like?
A: Unlike normal competitions, this one will be small and quiet. Spectator are welcome, but will need to be quiet/undistracting the entire time.

Q: Who is allowed to compete?
A: Everyone, from all ages are allowed to compete - but for this particular competition, you need to know how to solve a cube blindfolded.

Q: How do I check the results of the competition?
A: Check out WCA Live and search for the competition name to check live results throughout the day. Official results will then be posted within a few days of the end of the competition.

Q: How do I know when I am competing?
A: Group assignments for competing and staffing will be available on Competition Groups a few days before the competition.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced across rounds (see Guideline A1a2++).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
