Important Information

This is Queensland's first 3 day competition! Here is some information you should know:

Day 1, held on Friday will only be holding the niche events. If you do not have an event scheduled for the day, you are not required to attend, but you are more than welcome to come spectate or help out!

Newcomers: we have two newcomer tutorials, as can be seen on the schedule - One on Friday and one on Saturday.

Most events on Friday will be run in only 2 groups. If you are registered for an event, you are expected to help out in the other group.

Lunch on Friday overlaps with 4BLD and 5BLD:
If you are a competitor for these events, as soon as you finish your solves, you are free to go to lunch.
If you are not competing for these events, please re-enter the building quietly as competitors may still be solving. Note that lunch will go for 100mins!

Northside vs Southside Showdown!

In a fun and exciting format, two teams from the Northside and Southside of Brisbane will be going in a head to head battle across many events!

We define Northside as anywhere north of the Brisbane River in QLD (including outside of Brisbane) and vice versa. If you live ambiguously west of the river, you can choose whichever seems most reasonable.

Each team will have 4 players. There will be 16 rounds of events drawn at random, and the team captains will choose who will compete in a best of 1 battle in that round. Each player can only compete 4 times, and captains won't know who the other team is putting in, so they'll need to strategise about who to put in when.

The events that will be on are subject to change, and will be finalised in the week leading up to the competition. Possible events may include:
- 3x3, 2x2, 4x4
- 3x3 One Handed, Blindfolded
- Pyraminx, Skewb, Clock, Megaminx, Square 1
- Mystery Events!

We will choose a team captain, who then chooses their teammates. You can register for this event here.

Make sure you're there to cheer for your team on Saturday night!

Venue

The competition venue is located at Brisbane State High School. There will only be one gate you can enter through, Gate V3 on the corner of Edmondstone and Vulture St, South Brisbane. This is NOT on the main Cordelia St campus (that Google maps will take you to).

Car
Parking in the South Brisbane area is VERY LIMITED. Private paid parking by Secure and Wilson can be found nearby (search on google maps), as well as other options in a 1km radius. Expect street parking to be tough to find. Also consider park and ride as an option.

Public Transport
Competitors are highly encouraged to use public transport. There are multiple options including bus, train and ferry. The South Bank train and bus stations, which have many connections, are a short walk to the venue.

Food
It is a 500m walk west to Boundary St which has a large selection of restaurants. More options can be seen in the map below:

Spectators

Spectators are permitted and may enter FREE of charge.

We encourage spectators and it is often good to come watch first to understand how a competition operates. You will then know what to do when you do compete. There are also plenty of opportunities to get involved as a volunteer. If you would like a judging tutorial please approach a Delegate, they will be wearing the bright red polo shirts.

Spectators are encouraged to learn how to judge. Tingman has made an excellent video that tells you everything you need to know. We will run a judging tutorial at the same time as the new competitor tutorial and you can also have someone teach you how to judge later in the day. Judging is not difficult and you don't need to be a cuber to be a successful judge, it is an excellent way to make the time fly by!

No tickets are required for spectators but we ask you to avoid the busy morning period.

Live Results

Live results will be provided via WCALive. It may take up to an hour between times being set and them appearing online.
