Each competitor can bring 3 spectators as part of their entrance fee, additional spectators can be admitted for a R100 (South African Rand) fee on the day.What you get

Upon registering you will receive an email stating “Your registration for Rubik's WCA African Championship 2024 is submitted and pending approval”. This does NOT mean that you are on the registration list. Competitors will not be approved until payment has been made.

Once the competitor limit of 250 has filled, the waiting list will be opened.
You must pay the R400 (South African Rand) registration fee to be added to the waiting list.
New registrations will be added to a waitlist and sorted in the order of payment.
Waitlisted competitors will only be added to the competition if an existing competitors withdraws.
All competitors still on the waiting list after Friday September 10, 2024 will be removed and provided with a full refund.

Competitors may have up to 3 spectators accompany them for free. Additional spectator tickets will be available to purchase for R100 per person at the event.

Be aware that filming and photography at the Rubik's WCA African Championship 2024 will be prevelant, you therefore consent to your image being used by the World Cube Association and its partners in their marketing and social media platforms by attending.

Venue - Fish Hoek High School
Located in Cape Town, is an institution renowned for its academic excellence and strong community ties.
The Terry Hepworth Hall is the largest facility at the school and can seat ample spectators in total, with raised seating for better viewing . The balcony seats 150 and the main hall 370. One of the main draw cards for this venue was that the seating is raised making the competitor stage much more visible for the spectators.

The World Cube Association governs competitions for mechanical puzzles that are operated by twisting groups of pieces, commonly known as 'twisty puzzles'. The most famous of these puzzles is the Rubik's Cube, invented by professor Rubik from Hungary. A selection of these puzzles are chosen as official events of the WCA. The WCA recognizes the results of the Rubik's WCA African Championship 2024 along with any records and continental champion titles.
Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
