The competition is cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Please note: There is no 3x3x3 Cube at this competition. The main event of the competition is 3x3x3 Multi-blind.

This competition will take place immediately before FMC 2020 in the same room as the Sydney location. If you compete in this competition you are not required to pay the entry fee for FMC 2020 Sydney location.

There is a competitor limit of 20 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $10 (Australian Dollar).
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.


Upon registering you will receive an email stating “Your registration for Silent Sydney 2020 is submitted and pending approval”. This does NOT mean that you are on the registration list. Competitors will not be approved until payment has been made. Please ensure you have paid the registration fees via Stripe on the register page. Your registration will not be processed until you have paid the registration fees.

Once the competitor limit has filled new registrations will be added to a waitlist to be sorted in the order of payment. Waitlisted competitors will only be accepted provided one of the accepted competitors withdraws from the competition by emailing the organisation team at support@speedcubing.org.au. All competitors still on the waiting list after the 5th of June will be removed.

To receive a refund you must email the organisational team at support@speedcubing.org.au by the 5th of June. Refunds will not be issued after this date for any reason.

All registration fees include GST.

Q. How can I change my events?
You must make any change your registered events by the 5th of June. Send an email to support@speedcubing.org.au detailing your event changes.

Q. What time should I arrive at the competition?
You should arrive for registration at 10:50 am if you are competing in 3x3x3 Multi-blind, or just before 1 pm if you are competing in 4x4x4 or 5x5x5 Blindfolded. Please do not arrive before 10:40 am. Note the schedule is subject to change on the day.

Q. Why is there no 3x3x3 Cube at this competition?
This competition focuses on "silent" events - Multi-blind, 4x4x4 Blindfolded and 5x5x5 Blindfolded. It will take place immediately before FMC 2020.

Q. What do I need to know before the competition day?
Before attending you should have read and understood the WCA regulations.

Your Delegates for this competition are Edward Hollingdale and Nathan Seeto, feel free to ask them any questions you may have on the day.

Of course! Throughout the day we will need judges and runners so please see our Delegates to ask how you can best assist.

Live results will be provided via WCALive. It may take up to an hour between times being set and them appearing online.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced across rounds (see Guideline A1a2++).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
