MSU Parking services are closed on weekends, so all staff zones are free to park in on the day of the competition. There is a road off of Barr Avenue that leads to a couple of staff zones conveniently next to the Bost Extension Center.

First Time Competitors

All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video gives a basic overview of the rules. Additionally, please be familiar with how to judge at a cubing competition. All competitors will be required to judge in at least one of the events they are competing in. All information about competing and judging will also be explained during the New Competitor Tutorial at the beginning of this competition.

Also, this document contains detailed information on the rules, regulations, and general flow of WCA competitions. It is encouraged that you read this before coming to this competition.

All Competitors

When you arrive, There will be a table inside the venue where you will find a nametag with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also have judging assignments on your card. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for.

If you do not arrive to help judge during your scheduled event, and there are not enough judges, you may be disqualified from competing. (not good) (please judge)

Masks are recommended but not required for this competition. Please wash/sanitize your hands before entering the venue, and do not attend if you have contracted symptoms or tested positive for COVID19.

Kilominx and Mirror Blocks will be held as unofficial events in this competition. This means that the results will not be recorded in the WCA's rankings. The results will be posted on this tab after the competition.

Competitors who are officially registered for the competition may compete in only 1 of the 2 Extra Events below. These 2 events will be held concurrently during lunch time.

Gift card prizes will be given out to all who place in the top 3. For 3x3x3, the third prize is $10, second prize is $15, and first prize is $20. For all other events, third prize is $5, second prize is $7, and first prize is $10.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
