First-time Competitors

First-time competitors should be somewhat familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video and this document are competitor tutorials which will give you a basic overview of competing. This will also be explained during the New Competitor Tutorial at this competition, so please plan to show up for the New Competitor Tutorial if this is your first competition!

All Competitors

Masks are encouraged but not required. Distance yourself from other competitors and do not attend if you contract symptoms of COVID-19.

Please show up at least 30 minutes prior to your first event to check-in and help with judging/running. When you arrive, you will receive a card detailing your events, your groups for those events, and judging assignments.

Group Cards can be accessed through this PDF. You will receive your group card when you enter the venue.

Live Results

Live Results can be found at WCA Live once the competition begins. Note: Results are entered manually after a round has ended, please be patient in waiting for your results to show up.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

Format

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
