All Attendees (Spectators/Families)

  • Spectators (parents, siblings, friends, etc.) are allowed to come watch for free. No prior registration is required.
  • It would be wonderful if we could get some volunteer help from parents (If you have not judged before, please attend the new competitor tutorial to learn how). Once you know how, you can judge for however long you'd feel like - it's an excellent way to help support the event your kid is enjoying and make the time fly by as well!

All Competitors

  • Make sure to register on CubingUSA by logging in to the CubingUSA website, editing your account and setting your home state.
  • Most competitors will receive judging assignments and are expected to fulfill them. Failure to show up to judge may result in disqualification. If you do not know how to judge, please attend the new competitor tutorial to learn how.
  • Check-in will start at 8:30 AM on Saturday.
  • You should be present at least 30 minutes before the start of any events you are competing in. If you miss your group you may not be able to compete in that event.

New Competitors

  • We will have a new competitor tutorial at 8:40 AM on Saturday. It is very important that you attend this tutorial to learn the competing and judging processes.
  • This video will help explain most things that any first-time competitor will need to know. It is highly recommended that parents watch this video as well to better understand how a competition works.

If you have any questions not answered on the competition website, please use the contact link on the General Info tab to contact the organization team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I register?
A: First you need to make sure you have created a WCA account. You can do this by going to the sign-up page and creating an account. Once you have created the account and confirmed your email address, go to the Register page on the left and follow the instructions fully and carefully.

Q: Why am I not on the registration list yet?
A: Please make sure that you have followed the instructions listed on the Register page. You could also be on the waiting list. There is a competitor limit of 200, and you can see the number of accepted competitors on the Competitor List. If you have done everything correctly and the competition is not full then we will accept you within 48 hours. If you believe you have followed the steps correctly and still are not on the Competitor List after 48 hours, then feel free to email us at the contact link on the General Info page.

Q: I am no longer able to attend, what do I do?
A: The first thing you need to do is tell us as soon as you know via the contact link on the General Info page. Competitions generally fill up quite quickly and letting us know that you can't attend means we can add someone from the waiting list.

Q: If I do not attend do I get a refund?
A: If you inform us you are no longer attending before Friday, November 17, 2023 at 6:00 PM CST then you will receive a 75% refund. If this time has passed then you will not receive a refund.

Q: How fast do I have to be to compete?
A: We recommend that you check out the Events and Schedule tabs. If you can make the time limit for the events you want to compete in, then you're fast enough! Many people come to competitions just to beat their own personal bests, and meet likeminded people, with no intention of winning or even making it past the first round.

Q: Are there different age categories?
A: All competitors compete on the same level and all ages are welcome.

Q: Do I use my own cubes to compete?
A: Yes! Make sure to bring cubes for all events you are competing in and look after them so you dont lose them.

Q: Am I allowed to bring a guest?
A: Yes, you are allowed to bring as many guests as you please for no additional cost. Space in the venue may be restricted during busy times so please try to limit the number you bring, as well as list the number when registration asks.

Q: Can I come only to spectate?
A: Yes! However, the venue is usually quite busy during the morning, so if you are just coming to spectate please come in the afternoon.

Q: I'm a parent, what can I do to get involved?
A: If you're looking for something to do then you can certainly help out with the running and judging! We always need help with this and they are really easy procedures to follow. You can come to the Competitor Tutorial on Saturday morning where we go through all of it there, and there is a tutorial on the Important Information tab as well. Running is also great for step count and requires zero knowledge of cubing if you're worried about that.

Q: I'm not competing in any events on Sunday. Do I still have to be there?
A: No. You do not have to be present on any days where you do not have any events you are competing in.

Q: When do I arrive at the competition?
A: If you are a new competitor, we highly recommend that you show up for the New Competitor Tutorial on Saturday morning. Otherwise, we recommend you arrive at least 30 minutes before your first event - you can check when this is on the Schedule tab. This will give you enough time to check in, find a seat, and warm-up.

Q: What do I do when I arrive?
A: The first thing you do when you arrive is find the help desk if check-in is open. If you arrive before check-in opens, we will make an announcement as to when it does open. If there is nobody present at the help desk then find a staff member and we will make sure to check you in.

Q: When can I leave the competition?
A: You are more than welcome to leave whenever you want. If you have no more events left then you are not required to stay. Even if you have more events later, you are not required to compete, but doing so is highly recommended.

Q: How do I become a staff member?
A: Read the information and fill out the form on the Staff Application page. You will receive an email if you have or have not been accepted as staff. Please keep in mind that we expect most staff to have some prior staffing experience.

Q: Is there lunch provided?
A: Lunch is not provided but there are several options in the area.

Q: How do I find results?
A: All the results will be found on the home page within a week after the competition, once they have all been checked and uploaded. Live results will be available on WCA Live.

Staff applications are now closed.

Expectations from staff members:
- Staff members will have additional assignments throughout the competition. You will be responsible for primarily scrambling and running duties, filling in missing judging spots if needed, and following any other instructions from organizers/delegates.
- We expect all staff members to have some previous staffing and/or competition experience.

Potential benefits for staff members include:
- Refunded registration fee (based on performance review)
- Lunch on Saturday and Sunday
- Great experience staffing at a Championship!

Staff benefits depend on whether the competition fills to a certain point. If you have been accepted as staff we will let you know which benefits we are able to provide.

Please keep in mind that we are only able to accept a limited amount of applications. You will receive an email after registration closes letting you know if you have been accepted or not.

This competition is sponsored by TheCubicle! They will be providing gift cards to the podiums in each event.
