COVID-19 SAFETY INFORMATION:
To prevent overcrowding in the venue, we are limiting each competitor to one guest only.Masks are strongly recommended.
Competitors should not attend the competition if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or if they were exposed to someone with COVID-19.
When not competing, competitors and spectators should attempt to socially distance whenever possible by keeping 3 feet away from others. We also encourage you not to share puzzles with other competitors.

The base registration fee for this competition is $15 (United States Dollar).
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
Registrants on the waiting list may be accepted onto the competitor list until .
If you are a registered competitor you may change your registered events until on the Register tab.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Please keep in mind that registrations are approved manually after payment, so your registration may not be approved immediately.
Your registration is not complete until your registration fee has been paid.

If the competitor limit of 150 has been reached, you can still register and pay the registration fee to secure a spot on the waitlist. During the registration period, any competitor can cancel their registration and allow the first person on the waitlist to take their spot. If you find that you cannot make it to the competition after registering, please contact us so that we can maximize attendance.
All registrants still on the waitlist after the registration period will have their registrations deleted, and will be fully refunded.

For First-Time Competitors
All newcomers must read our "Info For First Time Competitors" Tab, and be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video gives a basic overview of the rules.

For All Competitors
When you arrive, you will receive a card with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also have judging/scrambling/running assignments on your card. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for. The card will look like the following:
If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.
This competition is sponsored by The Cubicle! They will be providing gift card prizes to our podium finishers.
General Info: The venue is located at 2500 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD, 21048. The competition will take place on the campus of Gerstell Academy in the Paterakis Athletic Center (PAC). This building is the furthest back on the campus, and is directly to the right of the turf field.
Entry: Please enter through the north gate located on the right hand side as you enter campus. This gate can be identified as the one with the toll booth, although there will be no fees to enter campus or park. Once you have passed the gate, follow the loop until you reach the PAC.
Parking: There is ample parking directly in front of the PAC.
Green: Quickest route to get to the PAC
Red: North Gate
Blue: Paterakis Athletic Center (PAC)
There are a variety of options within a 10 minute drive from the venue. There will also be concessions at the competition.

NOTE: ALL COMPETITORS MUST PAY THE $15 REGISTRATION FEE. If you are selected for staff, you will be refunded the registration fee AFTER the competition has ended.
Staff will be responsible for doing scrambling and running tasks throughout the day.
Staff members will be provided with free registration for the competition.
Final staff decisions will be made after registration closes.

During our lunch break we will hold a mystery event that will be announced on the day of the competition! No prior registration needed.
Time limit
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).
Cutoff
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
Format
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
