Important info

All competitors must have read the WCA regulations. Participants are expected to know WCA's regulations before attending an official competition. We will have a competitor tutorial for new participants before 2x2x2 on Saturday, where we will show how to compete in an official WCA competition. If you want to get a better idea of how the competition works already, please check this video which will show you this. Reading through this guide. is also a good idea since it shows most things a competitor needs to know.

You must be registered for this competetiton online in order to compete! You can register here.

All new competitors should bring a valid ID. To be allowed to compete as a new competitor, you need to be able to identify yourself and the information you provided us when you registred for this competition. A passport is a good example of a valid ID since it shows all necessary information, such as name, nationality and date of birth.

You must be ready to compete when your group starts. You need to be present at the venue during the events in which you plan to attend. However, you need to be present at the venue no later than 15 minutes before your first event starts so that you have enough time to complete the registration. It is however always recommended to be at the venue at least 15 minutes before your next event, since the schedule may differ slightly from what was previously announced.

No flash photography in the entire venue! Flash is distracting to the competitors. Pictures without the use of flash are allowed.

Spectators should remain 1,5 meters away from the solving stations and the competition area. Otherwise, you might distract other competitors or disrupt the competition flow.

You are not allowed to talk about the scrambles until the round is done Otherwise, you might get disqualified.

Check your e-mail A few days before the competition, you will receive a participant email where we will address various important information for participants to know. This email will also include any changes made since the competition was announced. If there is any other urgent information which we need to communicate to competitors, then it will be done through e-mail so therefore it is important that you check your e-mail regularly.

Viktig info

Alla tävande ska ha läst WCA regulations. Deltagare förväntas känna till WCAs reglemente innan man deltar på en officiell tävling. Vi kommer innan 2x2x2 på lördagen ha en deltagarintroduktion för nya deltagare där vi går igenom hur det går till när man tävlar på en officiell WCA-tävling. Vill man redan nu få bättre koll på hur tävlingsproceduren går till, kolla då gärna denna video som visar detta på ett bra sätt. Att läsa igenom denna guide är också en bra idé eftersom den visar det mesta man behöver känna till som deltagare.

Alla nya tävlande bör ha med ett giltigt ID. För att få tävla som ny deltagare måste du kunna identifiera dig själv och visa att den information du gav oss när du registrerade dig för den här tävlingen är korrekt. Ett pass är ett bra exempel på ett giltigt ID eftersom det visar all nödvändig information, såsom namn, nationalitet och födelsedatum.

Du måste vara redo att tävla när din grupp startar Du behöver vara på plats i lokalen under de grenar där du planerar att delta. Du behöver dock vara på plats i lokalen senast 15 minuter innan din första gren ska börja, så du hinner fullfölja registreringen. Vi rekommenderar dock alltid att ni är på plats i lokalen minst 15 minuter innan er nästa gren, då schemat kan variera något jämfört med vad som först var planerat.

Fotografering med blixt är förbjudet i hela lokalen! Blixtar är störande för tävlande. Fotografering utan blixt är tillåtet.

Publik måste befinna sig 1,5 meter ifrån tävlingsstationerna och tävlingsområdet Annars finns risken att man stör andra tävlande eller tävlingsproceduren.

Man får inte prata om blandningarna innan man tävlat färdigt i pågående gren Annars finns risken att man blir diskvalificerad.

Håll koll på er e-mail Några dagar innan tävlingen kommer ni få ett deltagarmail där vi kommer ta upp diverse viktig information för deltagare att känna till. I detta mail kommer också eventuella ändringar sedan tävlingen annonserades tas upp. Om det finns annan information som vi snabbt måste kommunicera till deltagare så kommer detta också ske via e-mail, därför är det viktigt att ni håller koll på er e-mail regelbundet.

Registration

The registration is not considered complete until you have paid the registration fee of 100 SEK. Payment is done through the WCA website, this will show up automatically right after you register.
If your name doesn't appear on the competitor list 48 hours after paying, contact the organisers. (Contact information under the "General info" tab.)

If you have registered but then can't go to the competition, please send an e-mail telling us this as that will leave your spot for somebody else, and you will also get a refund of 100% of the registration fee as long as it's done before October 2nd.

Registration will close on October 1st, or when the competitor limit of 80 competitors is reached.

Anmälan

Om du har anmält dig men sen inte längre kan komma på tävlingen, maila oss arrangörer och informera om detta. Det lämnar din plats för någon annan, och du får också tillbaka 100% av anmälningsavgiften, så länge du gör det innan 2a oktober.

Anmälan stänger 1a oktober, eller när deltagargränsen på 80 personer är nådd.

New competitors

If this is your first WCA competition, welcome! There should not be much to worry about, but this tab will give you some useful information for you to prepare for the competition.

Make sure to read through all tabs above as there is a lot of important information there.
If you've never competed before, you need to bring a valid ID, for example a passport or driver's licence.

We will have a demonstration showing how the competing process works on Saturday before 2x2, but we highly recommend watching this video to get a good understanding of how solving in competition works. Reading through this guide is also a good idea since it shows most things a competitor needs to know.

It is also important that you read through the WCA Regulations so that you are aware of different penalties and how to avoid them.

Remember that you only need to be at the venue when you have an event to compete in, but since the schedule might change slightly throughout the competition, we recommend showing up at least 20 minutes before your first event.
Throughout the competition, you will be able to see live results from WCA-Live, and there you can see what results you got and whether or not you proceeded to the next round.

Nya tävlande

Om det här är din första WCA-tävling, välkommen! Det finns inte mycket att oroa sig för, men denna flik ger er lite användbar information så ni kan förbereda er inför tävlingen.

Det är viktigt att du läser igenom alla flikar här på sidan, eftersom det finns mycket viktig information där.
Om du aldrig tävlat förut måste du ha med ett giltigt ID, till exempel ett pass eller körkort.

På lördagen innan 2x2 kommer vi demonstrera hur det går till att tävla, men vi rekommenderar starkt att du även kollar på den här videon så du bättre förstår hur det går till att lösa i tävling. Att läsa igenom denna guide är också en bra idé eftersom den visar det mesta man behöver känna till som deltagare.

Det är också viktigt att du läser igenom WCA-reglerna så du får en bättre förståelse för vilka olika tidsstraff du kan få på lösningarna, och hur du undviker dem.

Kom ihåg att du bara behöver vara i lokalen när du har någon gren att tävla i, men eftersom schemat kan ändras något under tävlingen rekommenderar vi att du är där minst 20 minuter innan din första gren.
Under hela tävlingen kommer du kunna se live-resultat från WCA-Live, där kan du se vilka resultat du fick, och ifall du gick vidare till nästa runda.

Travel

By Car

The address of the venue is Expovägen 1, Värnamo, which is right by the E4. Parking is available outside the venue for free.

By Train

The venue is located about 2 kilometers southeast of the city center. All trains passing Värnamo stop at Värnamo central station, a 2.5 kilometer walk from the venue. If possible however, please book a train to Rörstorp station, as that small station is only 450 meters from the venue. Either way, search and book tickets at www.sj.se.

By Flight

The easiest way to reach Värnamo from abroad is by flying to Gothenburg Landvetter Airport or Copenhagen Airport, however none are that close to Värnamo. Expect about 3 hours on public transport to reach Värnamo using either of the alternatives above.

Resa

Med Bil

Adressen är Expovägen 1, Värnamo, vilket är precis intill E4. Det finns gratis parkering utanför lokalen.

Med Tåg

Lokalen ligger cirka 2 kilometer sydost om stadens centrum. Alla tåg som passerar Värnamo stannar vid Värnamo centralstation, 2,5 kilometers promenad från lokalen. Om möjligt, boka istället ett tåg till Rörstorp station, eftersom denna mindre station bara ligger 450 meter från lokalen. Oavsett fall, sök och boka biljetter på www.sj.se.

Med Flyg

Det vanligaste sättet att nå Värnamo från utlandet är att flyga till Göteborg Landvetters flygplats eller Köpenhamns flygplats, men ingen av dessa flygplatser är särskilt nära Värnamo. Räkna med cirka 3 timmar för att nå Värnamo från dessa flygplatser.

Hotels

There are unfortunately no possibilites to sleep at the venue during this competition, but here follows a few options for hotels close to the venue (for 2 persons) . At Bredasten (where also McDonalds is located, about 3 km from the venue), you will find two hotels, "Hotell Vidöstern" (about 900SEK per night, link ) and "Rasta" (about 1000 SEK per night, link ).
There are two hotels in the city, "Best Western / Hotell Tre Liljor" (about 1100 SEK per night, link ) and "Scandic" (about 1200 SEK per night, link )
Lastly, about 1.6 km from the venue, "Hotell Apladalen" is located (about 1200 SEK per night, link ).

Hotell

Det finns tyvärr inga möjligheter till att sova i lokalen under tävlingen, här kommer dock ett antal möjligheter för att sova på hotell (tvåbäddsrum). På Bredasten (där bla McDonalds också ligger, ca 3km från lokalen) finns det två st hotell, Hotell Vidöstern (ca 900kr per natt, länk ) och Rasta (ca 1000 kr per natt, länk ).
I centrum finns det två st hotell, Best Western/ Hotell Tre Liljor (ca 1100 kr per natt, länk ) och Scandic (ca 1200 kr per natt, länk )
Ca 1.6km från lokalen finns till sist också Hotell Apladalen, ca 1200 kr per natt, länk.

Food

There is an ICA Kvantum on the other side of Expovägen. Across the street behind ICA Kvantum is also Restaurant Söderport.
There are McDonalds, Max, Burger King, Rosegarden, etc., about 5-10 minutes by car from the venue.
The nearest pizzeria is about 1km from the venue, there is also a Coop and a Lidl near the pizzeria.
There will be a kiosk in the venue where you will be able to buy, among other things. cookies, rolls and drinks.

Mat

Det ligger ett ICA Kvantum på andra sidan av Expovägen. Över gatan bakom ICA Kvantum finns också Restaurang Söderport.
Det finns McDonalds, Max, Burger King, Rosegarden, m.m., ca 5-10 min med bil från lokalen.
Närmsta pizzerian ligger ca 1km ifrån lokalen, det finns också ett Coop och ett Lidl i närheten av pizzerian.
Det kommer finnas en kiosk i lokalen där man kommer kunna köpa bla. kakor, frallor och dryck.

The page will be updated during the days before the competition, and this is also the page which you should visit to see the live results during the competition, and see whether you proceeded to the next round or not.

Bowling

The reason why the competition ends fairly early on Saturday is because those who want to come along and bowl at the Bowling Magazine in Värnamo. There are 12 courses on the magazine and you can have a maximum of four players on one course, which will be a maximum of 48 players (but depends on other booked courses). Bowling costs about SEK 80 per person. To register for the bowling, you simply enter the word "Bowling" in the comments field on the registration.

Bowling

Anledningen till att tävlingen avslutas ganska tidigt på lördagen är för att de som vill ska följa med och bowla på Bowlingmagasinet i Värnamo. Det finns 12 banor på magasinet och man kan max vara fyra spelare på en bana, vilket blir max 48 stycken spelare (men beror på om andra bokat banor). Bowlingen kostar ca 80kr per person. För att anmäla er till bowlingen skriver ni enkelt in ordet "Bowling" i komentarsfältet på registreringen.
