Parking
Parking is available in the structure on the southwest corner of the school. Turn onto Kincardine Avenue from Robertson Boulevard and follow the border of the school. You will find the parking structure at the intersection with Canfield Avenue. Signs will be posted directing you toward the structure.

Street parking may be available in the neighborhood behind the school if the structure fills up.

Getting to the gym
Enter the school at the front doors and continue straight into the quad. Walk straight across the bottom floor of the building directly in front. Once on the other side, you will see two buildings with green and white rooves. The competition will be in the building IN BETWEEN those two buildings.

There is another event going on at the school in the cafeteria and the other gym. Please do your best not to cause a disturbance.

Overhead view of the school

We will be having a pledge drive similar to that of a Jog-a-thon during the competition. Both spectators and competitors will have an opportunity to pledge to donate a certain sum of money to the Robotics team if they achieve a result lower or equal to a certain time in a certain event, which may be a single or an average. Spectators may make pledges on competitors and competitors may make pledges on other competitors or themselves.

The form below is for making pledges in advance of the competition.

If you would like to fill out the physical form instead, you may print out the below PDF. Make sure to drop it off at the designated booth during the competition.

The competitor who raises the most money through fulfilled pledges will receive a prize.

The da Vinci Coders

If this is your first competition, welcome! We are always happy to see new faces in the WCA and hope that you can have a fantastic first competition experience at West LA Spring 2019. Below are some important tips - we highly recommend that you read them.

Note that there will be a tutorial for new competitors beginning at 11:00am before 3x3x3 Round 1. Please attend if you are a first-time competitor.

  • You are responsible for providing your own cube to solve with.
  • You will complete five solves and will be scored by the average excluding the best and worst results.
  • Competitors will be called in numbered groups to compete.
  • You must be in the competitor waiting area when your group is competing and your cube has been dropped off.
  • Volunteering is encouraged, either in the role of runner or judge. Talk to a delegate or organizer if you would like to do so.
  • You are not required to be at the competition when you are not due to solve, although we do ask you to arrive by 11 for the competitor tutorial.

If you have any questions, either review the WCA Regulations or email the organizers.

For returning WCA competitors, we are asking that everyone help staff this event in order to make it run more efficiently.

All staffing assignments are posted directly below the list of competitors competing in the given group.

There are multiple roles as staff, such as judges, runners and scramblers. Before the first round of 3x3, there will be a competitor tutorial that will include how to compete, judge, and run. Please note that most first-time competitors will not be assigned to help staff; however, we always welcome additional staff members if you would like to help out.

Live Results can be found on Cubecomps: http://cubecomps.com/live.php?cid=4251

A majority of competitors have been assigned to staff, each for a small portion of the competition. Please make sure to read the Competitor Responsibilities tab.

Judging, running, and scrambling assignments are posted below the competitors competing in a given group.
